The Elephant King Trailer

An official trailer for an indie film titled The Elephant King has recently showed up online. I had no clue what this movie was about until I watched this trailer but found it entertaining enough to feature this weekend. Something about it looks very genuine and I like that about it, especially because I'm always in search of indie gems to fall in love with. The Elephant King is a provocative and stirring story of two American brothers, Oliver and Jake Hunt, adrift in an exotic world they don't fully understand. The only big actor in the cast is Ellen Burstyn, but the two brothers, specifically Tate Ellington, look like they do a fantastic job. If you've got nothing better to do this weekend, than give it a shot.

The Elephant King is both written and directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Seth Grossman and is his feature film debut after directing a few shorts. This first debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival way back in 2006 and was eventually picked up by Unison Films for distribution this year. The Elephant King will arrive in limited theaters (starting in New York City only) on October 17th this fall.

It's a shame Ellen Burstyn has been typecast ever since Reqiuem for a Dream.

Looks interesting, but that is some terrible voiceover work.

Looks like a holiday in someone's misery, imagine punching that baby elephant in the face, would be funny. Just kidding.

I've already seen the trailers some time ago and want to see the movie so bad ever since. Bad sadly it has only been screened like one single time in a cinema about 200 kilometres away from here... I seriously hope it's getting a wider release here in Germany once it's become more popular in the US because I really want to see it.

I second the terrible voiceover. & is this shot on film? The colours look appealingly washed out and low-contrast.

The plotline seems overused and quite boring, other than some decent photography...pass.

looks like the DREAM WITH THE FISHES movie made in '97 just in a different location. Apparently the days of the depressed youth on the journy to find themselves still has some dwindling core audience. Don t they make pills for this hoky cry for me shit.
