Creepy Trailer for Dennis Quaid's Horror Film The Horsemen
January 20, 2009
by Alex Billington
Focus Features has debuted the trailer for their upcoming horror film The Horsemen. I'm going to say, this looks really freakin' creepy. I think that part with that silver bowl that's sitting out in the snow just seems like a perfectly weird and scary start. I don't even know what's in it, but I expect it'll be very crazy. Dennis Quaid stars as a detective who discovers a shocking connection between himself and the suspects in a serial killing spree linked to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. More qualified horror fans need to give this trailer and shot and tell me if it actually does look any good? Or if it's yet another horror disaster?
Watch the trailer for The Horsemen:
Fore more info on the film, head to the official website: teamworld.it/thehorsemen/
The Horsemen is directed by Swedish filmmaker Jonas Ã…kerlund, a big music video director with credits like Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up". His directorial debut was on a film called Spun from 2002, but this is his second feature film. The screenplay was written by Dave Callaham, of Doom previously as well as the upcoming Tell-Tale. Focus Features will debut The Horsemen in theaters on March 13th early this year.

So far, so standard. Seems like another whodunit and why with a splash of gore….

This is being touted as a horror movie? Looks more like a suspense thriller to me. Along the lines of "Se7en" which is cool because I like movies like that.

Didn't give me shit…
Quaid will be dead by the end of the movie… and I will be asleep

looks pretty good…but it looks too similar to Se7en.

I think it looks entertaining, award winning not quite, but worth the free passes.

Bored already. Slasher flick for the over 30's. And I'm over 30.

Not a horror movie. Although I bet Eli Roth is giggling like a little girl somewhere…

Looks like Se7en with like a cult of psyco apocolypse people or something.

it looks identical to Seven except not as good…

Wow, how is this not the movie "Se7en"?
Retiring detective, troubled home life for the detective, systematic killings based on Christian doctrine, a creepy monotone killer who is caught before the whole plan is carried out, solved murder system with a time constraint to find the remaining victim… you could go on.
Now I'm not saying it could be as good as Se7en, but clearly the filmmakers found inspiration somewhere.

Okay, I know asian girls in movies like this are supposed to be creepy, but that Zhang Ziyi is just to damn cute.

too… sorry.

it looks like a mix of "se7en" and the "saw" series dealing with some psychopath and religious stuff… i'd like to watch it, but it's too gory for me

I'll watch it, on HBO. Horror movies are so depressing lately. Saw was good…then it came out with 4 more and IT WON'T STOP!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!
Nothing is original and honestly the reason I really only care to see Saw and the FD series is to see how they manage to kill people.

Looks a lot like se7en, but still thinks it could be fun.
B-Han on Jan 20, 2009

I think a lot of people just try too hard with these "horror" films - I've only seen a few people be able to use the Biblical references successfully in a thriller…and from the trailer it certainly doesn't look like this will work out very well for them.
Mattyc on Jan 20, 2009

just a jumbled mess of scenes. pass
also i agree with #2

@#2 i doubt that alex don't know zhang ziyi… as the movie geek he is, i bet he knew who zhang ziyi is and what movies did zhang ziyi appeared on and became famous for… maybe he's just plain bais, hope not racist…
but i bet you… if cynthia rothrock was there, alex would laid out a sentence or two about her…

Huzzah! This appears to be a right fine film!

Yeah. I'm going to have to say it looks exactly like saw in the ways of how the kiddos die. But putting it all together with the 4 horsemen theme might make it interesting. Who knows….

Yeah agreed there se7en with an apocalypse twist but could just be the trailer.

Looks cool, but probably will end up that whatever Dennis Quaid's character does to stop the "Horsemen"…will actually set the supposed bad event in motion. Something like that, very Seven meets Arlington Road. Could be good though.
