Neil Marshall's Centurion Finds a Cast: Fassbender, West, Kurylenko

Moving on from Doomsday, British writer/director Neil Marshall's next feature film will be that of Centurion, a Britain-set sword-and-sandals thriller. Filling up the cast for the film will be Michael Fassbender (of 300 and Hunger), Dominic West (of 300, Hannibal Rising, and Punisher: War Zone) and Olga Kurylenko (of Hitman, Max Payne, and Quantum of Solace). Production is expected to start sometime later this year. You see, I have a love / hate relationship with Neil Marshall - I loved The Descent, but really hated Doomsday, so I'm just not sure what to expect with this and if it'll actually be any good.
Centurion, billed as a thriller set during the Roman invasion of Britain in A.D. 117, tells the story of Quintus Dias, sole survivor of a Pictish raid on a Roman frontier fort, who marches north with General Virilus' legendary Ninth Legion, under orders to wipe the Picts from the face of the Earth and destroy their leader, Gorlacon. Huh? I guess I haven't brushed up on my ancient British history in a while, but I think that sounds like it has some potential? But then again, I hope Marshall doesn't screw this one up like he did with Doomsday, which turned utterly ridiculous about 30 minutes in. We'll see how it all plays out.

You're criticizing Doomsday for being ridiculous? Isn't that like criticizing Obama for being black??
Anyway, Neil Marshall rocks, and I wish he had chosen to direct De2cent. And how can you go wrong with Olga Kurylenko?!

Love roman history…sounds interesting but it will only be good if its rated R cause u cant do roman combat with pg 13 it would just ruin it.

Doomsday was some of the most fun I've ever had at the theater. maybe it was just because we had a really reactive audience but I had a great time. but that goddamn editing…
