Check This Out: Special Delivery from Jason Voorhees!
January 28, 2009
by Alex Billington
While I was away at Sundance, my roommate called and told me that a box had showed up that said "open slowly" on it. I wasn't sure what the heck it was, but when I finally got home I found out. Warner Brothers had sent over a special Jason Voorhees mask for the upcoming Friday the 13th, complete with classic sound effects and a postcard for Camp Crystal Lake. I finally get to see the finished film on Friday (how fitting), which makes this quite timely. This should definitely make Friday the 13th fans giddy with excitement, especially when they realize that Jason is back on the big screen in just over two weeks.
I shot a quick video of the whole thing below for everyone's viewing pleasure. I thought it'd be cooler for you to get the full experience of opening the box and hearing the classic Friday the 13th sound effect.
Check out the unboxing video of the Jason mask:
Friday the 13th is directed by ex-music video director Marcus Nispel, of 2003's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Pathfinder previously. The screenplay for this reboot was penned by writing partners Damian Shannon and Mark Swift of Freddy vs Jason previously. Although this Friday the 13th is not a sequel, it is technically the 11th film in the franchise and follows Jason's last appearance in Freddy vs Jason in 2003. Warner Brothers is bringing Friday the 13th to theaters everywhere on Friday, February 13th, 2009.

My only question is this, "Is this movie any good, period? Or is it a hit and miss that has been the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween reboots? Please share at least that.

Becuse Jason looks scary as shit dude wtf do you think. Anyway thats awesome man I want it!!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to the review of the movie, I don't expect it will be all that awesome, but honestly I liked Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween and the Dawn of the Dead remakes, I never saw the originals so these were great to me, its shit like that new House of Wax and crap like that that piss me off, I think this movie will be entertaining enough even if its not that great.

Gimmicks will not make up for rebooting a classic franchise that lost its appeal by part 6. Boo this movie and the hype behind it.

I think its a little harder then that.
But you won't see Mike Rowe do an episode of "Dirty Jobs" about Alex any time soon.
