He's Back - Official Crank 2: High Voltage Trailer Debut!

Crank 2: High Voltage Trailer

Although we loved the first trailer for Crank 2: High Voltage that we ran last week, we were asked to remove it because of its extreme profanity, among other things. However, IGN has debuted the actual trailer for Crank 2: High Voltage today, without all the profanity, but with all the over-the-top action and crazy Jason Statham antics you could ask for. I still feel the same as I did last week - this looks frickin' awesome, in every way, and I can't wait for it to hit theaters. Not only do I love the style, but this just looks so insane, like nothing else out there, and for that (and more Amy Smart) it deserves to be hyped. Watch this!

Check This Out: Poster Premiere for Derick Martini's Lymelife

Poster Premiere for Derick Martini's Lymelife

If you love indie films, then you better start to get to know this one. Cinematical has premiered the poster for Lymelife, a coming-of-age 1970s set drama that is screening at Sundance this week. The film stars Rory Culkin as a kid growing up on Long Island dealing with parents who are on the verge of divorce and his own budding sexual interests. I first saw it at the Toronto Film Festival late last year and thought it was great, an enjoyable comical drama that feels a lot like Noah Baumbach's The Squid and the Whale. This poster isn't that bad either, so check it out and make sure to keep on the look out for Lymelife later this year.

Sam Rockwell Confirms Iron Man 2 Casting Details

Sam Rockwell

When the news first hit last week that Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke had been cast in Iron Man 2, Marvel started contacting various news outlets (including us) telling us that it hadn't been announced by them and thus wasn't confirmed. In addition, the conflicting reports from both trade magazines made the whole situation quite confusing and no one was sure whether or not the two had actually been cast or whether it was just an early announcement. However, MTV has confirmed today that at the very least Sam Rockwell will actually be joining the film as a villain, although he isn't too sure about Mickey Rourke.

Sundance 2009 Day 0: Welcome Home to Park City!

Sundance Film Festival

I've returned. I'm here in Park City, Utah and I feel like I'm home again. I'm only here for another 12 days, but it feels like I'm back where I belong. I love Sundance. It's plain and simple, I just love it. Our writer Marco described it best once in saying that it's like Disneyland for film geeks. If you ever went to Disneyland as a kid, then you know how ridiculously exciting that was for you at the time. Sundance is pretty much the same thing, per se, but for grown-ups who love film. It's my third year here and it's time to kick off the festival, ride the rides, see plenty of films, and give you the best coverage of Sundance that I can.

McG Clears Up Numerous Terminator Salvation Rumors

Terminator Salvation

Warner Brothers has been touring a special presentation for Terminator Salvation over the past few days. It started in New York City (where McG's response to Michael Bay's quote came from) and ended tonight in Los Angeles. Unfortunately I missed the presentation, but numerous other websites caught it. That meant they were all able to drill McG about a few things that had been mentioned at previous presentations and clarify a few other issues that have popped up, including that Linda Hamilton rumor. For the sake of making sure all of the fans are up to date, I've decide to compile a few of these updates.

Gore Verbinski Directing Scammed Rancher Movie Next?

Gore Verbinski

Although we really wanted to see Gore Verbinski direct the BioShock movie, it's looking like he'll be taking on a drama about a rancher instead. Really? Universal has just acquired a script written by newcomer Michael Gilio (that recently showed up on the Black List) tentatively titled Black Hole about a retired rancher who responds to a phone solicitation swindle that wipes out his savings. While we all know that phone and email scams are a pressing problem in this nation, do they really take priority over the hotly anticipated adaptation of one of the greatest video games ever made? Apparently for Universal they do.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D TV Spot - Good Old Fashioned Bullshit

My Bloody Valentine 3-D TV Spot - Good Old Fashioned Bullshit

Everyone knows I hate 3-D and nearly all 3-D movies. Which is why I'm going out of my way to mention this. The trailers for Lionsgate's upcoming My Bloody Valentine 3-D have been the biggest abusers of the 3-D gimmick, showing audiences reacting to fake 3-D flames. But this new TV spot they released is the bottom of the barrel. They use the marketing trick of splicing in on-camera confessions from people leaving the theater. But this time they've chosen some web journalists and apparently they're quotes have been taken so out of context, that even they're complaining about Lionsgate's sly marketing tactics.

Must Watch: Red Band Trailer for Bret Easton Ellis' The Informers

The Informers Trailer

Wow - I'm definitely impressed. Senator Entertainment has sent over a brand new red band trailer for Gregor Jordan's adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' The Informers. It looks like one hell of a funky, fun, and trippy film set in 1983 Los Angeles about movie executives, rock stars, a vampire, and other quirky characters. I've even heard that the gorgeous Amber Heard is naked throughout the most of film. In addition to her, Billy Bob Thornton, Mickey Rourke, Rhys Ifans, Kim Basinger, and Winona Ryder also all star. Potentially an indie gem? Definitely, but that is yet to be seen, as this premieres at Sundance next week.

Jim Sheridan Developing Project About FBI Informant Whitey Bulger

Black Mass / Jim Sheridan

After tackling rough Irish-themed true-life subjects in In the Name of the Father and The Boxer, writer, director and producer Jim Sheridan will next focus on the notorious Boston mobster and FBI informant Whitey Bulger. Sheridan is adapting a novel called "Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob", written by Pulitzer Prize-winning Boston Globe reporters Dick Lehr and Gerard O'Neill. The film will focus on Bulger who built up the Winter Hill Gang into a mob that did everything from sell drugs to procure guns for the Irish Republican Army out of Boston.

Check These Out: Freaky New Friday the 13th Photos

New Friday the 13th Photos

Although we've seen numerous trailers for Friday the 13th, there is somehow still more new footage from it that we haven't seen (obviously). So to spice things up, we've got some pretty badass new photos to share with you, just because they look pretty intense. I'm really digging the intensity of this movie more than anything. The photo at the bottom just looks insane as hell, probably because you know that girl is seconds away from being hacked to pieces. And that's why we love horror movies. So check these out and mark down February's upcoming Friday the 13th as the day to go see this new Friday the 13th. Don't miss it!

Must Watch: Highly Energetic New Fast and Furious Trailer

Fast and Furious Trailer

Universal has debuted a full theatrical trailer for the upcoming Fast & Furious. We've already seen a rather impressive teaser for this, so I'm excited to see that they've continued to step things up yet again. I really love their marketing style - showing us nearly a full action scene. It really gets me pupped up and excited to see more and that's all that Fast & Furious is about. I really think they might've pulled off a damn successful reboot of this Fast and the Furious franchise. Plus it's great seeing all the actors back again and it just looks downright entertaining. I like a little guilty pleasure every once in a while!

Emily Blunt Rumored as Black Widow in Iron Man 2!

Emily Blunt as Black Widow

It looks like Jon Favreau has finally decided on the new additions to Iron Man 2. Last week we heard that both Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke would join as villains. Today, Variety reports that Emily Blunt is rumored to playing the character of Black Widow aka Natasha Romanoff. We previously reported a rumor that both Black Widow and Hawkeye would have larger roles in the film and it looks like this is first confirmation that at least one of those characters will appear in the sequel. Like the Rockwell and Rourke news, this isn't confirmed by Marvel, and they probably won't be announcing it officially for a while.
