Another Great Poster for Steven Soderbergh's Che: Part Two
If you haven't already noticed, I'm a big admirer of great poster designs. Unfortunately we all too often see a lot of terrible posters over the year. So when one pops up that breaks the norm and looks fantastic, I'm always excited to share it. And thankfully, Steven Soderbergh's Che has been gaining momentum anyway due to its expansion into 9 more cities over the next few weeks. Thanks to Empire we've got our first look at the UK quad poster for Che: Part Two. The reason why I love this poster so much is because they took a considerably old and stale photo and gave it new life and new energy on a fantastic poster.

Kevin's Review: The Unborn - Better To Not Haven Been Born At All
Well before the release of writer/director David Goyer's The Unborn, the Dark Knight-scribe talked of a possible sequel to the dybbuk scare -- an opportunity, he said, to go deeper into the origins of the spirit haunting lead Odette Yustman (Cloverfield). Now that the film has come forth, any idea of continuing the story should be aborted posthaste. With its impaired speech, unusual movements and awkward sense of sexuality, The Unborn is a deformed film unbecoming of Goyer. While his directing background is limited, Goyer has some formidable writing credibility. However, none of that talent is inherited by The Unborn; and despite an intriguing premise, would have been better not to have been born at all.

Kevin's Review: Bride Wars - Love is a Shallow Battlefield
A wedding is usually one of the hardest passages a couple can expect to weather in a relationship. Having just gone through one myself, I can readily attest. But you don't expect that trial to hold true for best friends -- that is unless said friends plan simultaneous dream weddings at New York City's Plaza Hotel. Such is the premarital pickle confronting Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) when wedding planner extraordinaire Marion St. Claire (Candice Bergen) manages to botch the bookings. While the ensuing shenanigans are fun at times, Bride Wars tries to craft meaning out of marzipan, creating a spectacle that is at best a saturated imitation, and through sugary cliché, all around bad for you.

Guillermo del Toro Has Already Completed His Vampire Novels
Back in September, Variety reported that Guillermo del Toro had teamed up with writer Chuck Hogan to pen a series of books chronicling the origins of vampires, beginning with a focus on a modern-day vampiric virus that infects New York City. Obviously, we can cite much material that sounds similar, considering the recent trendiness of the night feeders, but the point here is how Del Toro would accomplish such a task given his harried schedule for the next decade. Our friends at MTV caught up with the creative mastermind, and while he didn't elaborate much, he did confirm that the books have already been written. Great news to my ears, since I love the idea of Del Toro's mind taking on vampire.

Peter Weir's The Way Back Gets a Strong Cast - Farrell, Harris, Sturgess, and Ronan
Director Peter Weir has figured out his cast for The Way Back, an upcoming WWII set project he is developing. Leading the way will be Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess and Saoirse Ronan. Based on a true story, The Way Back is about a group of soldiers who engineered a grueling escape from a Siberian labor camp in 1942. Farrell plays a tough, tattooed Russian; Harris an American; and Sturgess portrays a young Polish inmate. Ronan will play a Russian on the run who meets up with the fugitives. Weir himself wrote the script based on the memoir by Slavomir Rawicz. Shooting will start in March in Bulgaria.

Rumor: Sam Raimi Wants Morbius for a Spider-Man 4 Villain
It looks like the Hollywood vampire craze has hit Sam Raimi, too. Apparently the most recent issue of Empire (via SlashFilm) includes a quote from Raimi where he says: "I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius. He's really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural." While this is obviously not confirmation that Morbius will be in Spider-Man 4, it's our first hint at a villain we might see in the upcoming sequel. I'm sure most people would claim that the excess of villains was what hurt Spider-Man 3 the most. So is using Morbius next time an improvement?

Trailers Galore During This Year's Super Bowl XLIII!
Ah yes, the Super Bowl, that time of the year where we gather 'round the television, more excited to watch the commercials than the game itself. Variety has ran an early report confirming a few of the new trailers we're going to see this year. Airing on February 1st on NBC, Super Bowl XLIII will feature trailers for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek, G.I. Joe, Monsters vs Aliens, Angels & Demons, Land of the Lost, Fast and Furious, Pixar's Up, and Wolverine. It's also likely we'll see trailers for Night at the Museum 2, Ice Age 3, Race to Witch Mountain, G-Force, and maybe even Terminator Salvation.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Teaser Poster Revealed!
Revenge is coming! Thought there was nothing else new to see this week? Guess again! Yahoo has debuted the first teaser poster for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the highly anticipated sequel to Michael Bay's explosive giant robots action movie from 2007. Don't forget this is just a teaser, it's meant to show only enough to get you excited. I'm pretty sure this answers those questions about whether "The Fallen" is a character or just part of the title. Could those glowing eyes be from The Fallen, the fiery demonic robot, or could they maybe be from Jetfire, the same SR-71 Blackbird we've mentioned previously?

Read This Now: Producer Lloyd Levin's Open Letter About Watchmen
The on-going Watchmen legal battle has nearly reached its pinnacle. In a few more days we'll have a verdict from the judge and will know whether or not Warner Brothers gets to keep its March 6th release. Whatever ends up happening will undoubtedly go down in history and leave fanboys debating forever about who was right or wrong. I'm sad that it has come to a point where the only person that can say something that people respect is someone directly involved with the movie. Drew McWeeny at HitFix has ran an open letter from Lloyd Levin, one of the producers, that addresses this battle in a way only an insider could.

Must Watch: Wes Craven's The Last House on the Left Remake Trailer
Yep, they went and remade Wes Craven's classic horror movie that was so nasty, it was banned in the UK. Forget nasty this time thought, this remake be your regular R rated horror feature.... or will it? Universal has debuted the first (intense) trailer for the new Last House on the Left remake today. I'm pretty sure this is going to be very violent and intense, but does that make it as good as the original? I'm not sure? I'm not a big enough horror fan to say. The one thing I will say is that Dennis Iliadis, the guy that directed this, has one hell of a gritty style. I guess you can count me in, because this looks frickin' crazy!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is Rated PG - So What?
I've been asked by some readers to comment on the news that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince received a PG rating from the MPAA for "scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality." I've got three movies to name - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Speed Racer, and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Well, see that's the problem. While I would argue that those are the three best PG movies we've seen recently, most would argue that those three were terrible. And we don't want a terrible Harry Potter. For some reason, though, I'm confident that David Yates pulled it off.

Sandra Bullock Has Nuked the Fridge - All About Steve Trailer
It's official - I'm declaring today that Sandra Bullock has nuked the fridge. Fox has debuted the trailer for a new romantic comedy called All About Steve and it looks absolutely awful. This is the exact kind of cinematic crap that Middle America eats up that only further stuffs the pockets of this industry (specifically Fox) with millions of dollars that could be better spent elsewhere. Sadly I know it's going to make a lot of money but I'm going to stand my ground in opposition to it, because this utterly useless waste of celluloid shouldn't even be in movie theaters at all. Watch this if only to fuel your rage as much as mine.
