Watch the Angels and Demons Super Bowl TV Spot!
February 1, 2009
by Alex Billington
Taking a quick break during half time of the Super Bowl to bring you the TV spot that aired earlier in the game for Angels & Demons, the follow-up to The Da Vinci Code from 2006. We've only seen one short teaser for this, so I was excited to see a lot more. Believe it or not, I'm actually very excited for Angels & Demons, despite not really liking the original Da Vinci Code that much. Robert Langdon (aka Tom Hanks) is back in a big way and I think this is finally going to be the Dan Brown adaptation we've all been waiting to see (and didn't get before). We still haven't seen that much footage from it, but I'm definitely excited.
Watch the full Angels & Demons Super Bowl TV spot:
Angels & Demons is directed by prolific filmmaker Ron Howard, of everything from Willow to Backdraft to Apollo 13 to A Beautiful Mind to the previous The Da Vinci Code. The script was written by veteran screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, of Lost in Space, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code, and I Am Legend most recently. This film is based on Dan Brown's bestselling novel of the same name. Sony will be debuting Angels & Demons in theaters everywhere on May 15th, 2009 this summer.

I'm reserving judgment. I think they're trying to add more action to make it more interesting than "Da Vinci Code", but I've yet to see proof that the art of storytelling itself has been improved with this movie. (I've yet to see prove that it HASN'T been, either, mind you.)

If anyone has read the book it is a great read and is actually probably better than the DVC and this book actually does have a lot more action than the DVC (which I didn't have that much of a problem with.) I think this might turn out better though…

made for tv…wrong on so many levels… the dialogues soud ridiculous… and the da vinci was a sequel not a prequel( atleast in the book chronology) the token dialogue by the actress is absurd… Robert its a dead end? !!! well atleast may has X-men origins to look forward too… i am highly disappointed after the relatively brilliant teaser

This is much better than the Da Vinci code. That book and movie got all its rep from the controversy. The Angels and Demons book was much better. More action and dramatic - look out for Ewan McGregor's speech - interesting. For those who want action, look for the exploding helicopter near the end.
