Trailer for Gondry's, Carax's, and Joon-ho's Tokyo Triptych

The official trailer for Michel Gondry's, Leos Carax's, and South Korean director Bong Joon-ho's triptych film Tokyo! has debuted. It has taken a long time for this film to hit theaters and there's a reason for that - it's not all that great. Well, the first and last segments (by Michel Gondry and Bong Joon-ho) are pretty good, but the one in the middle is just shit. Literally, the title of the middle segment is "Merde", which means "shit" in French. And realistically, that segment is pretty damn bad, despite the rather interesting concept involving a freaky guy who lives in the sewers of Tokyo. Either way, check out this trailer.

Tokyo! is comprised of three segments that are written and directed by Michel Gondry (Science of Sleep, Be Kind Rewind), Leos Carax (The Lovers on the Bridge), and South Korean director Bong Joon-ho (The Host) individually. They were invited to come and shoot in the city of Tokyo by the government in order to show the world what it is like. After playing at numerous film festivals, Liberation Entertainment is finally bringing Tokyo! to theaters in New York starting on March 6th and Los Angeles starting on March 20th.

I think everyone posting here is giving this way too much appeal. This looks like it will be quite boring and lame.
Not interested at all.

I've seen the film in the cinemas last year. It was quite nice.
It's three short films obviously and they don't relate to each other at all, in my opinion.
Even though I'm a fan of Gondry's work, I didn't think that he did anything spectacular this time.
Carax's Mierde was quite funny but I personally liked Bong's Otaku(can't remember the proper term mentioned in the movie) love story.
My advice, don't get high hopes, but it's worthwhile.

After living in Japan for 5 months (though not in Tokyo) I want to see this film solely to see if it's even accurate at all…most films dealing with Japan are just….wrong.

I don't even know what the three "scenes" are about, but I think I'll keep it that way. I don't understand how anyone thought this was a good idea.

Awesome… This comes out on the same day as Watchmen in NY. I might just watch them both.
