Watchmen Video Journal: Rorschach's Mask

It's that time of the month and that means we've got the latest Watchmen video journal to share with all of you. Empire presents the 11th of 12 behind-the-scenes video journals chronicling the development of the film. Today's video journal focuses on the character of Rorschach (played by Jackie Earle Haley) and his ever-changing ink blot mask that wears throughout the film. This was one of the biggest challenges for them to pull off because the ink blots are constantly changing shape. It's fascinating, as always, to watch this and see all of the little elements of design and detail coming together in such a grand way. I love these videos, because they capture the true filmmaking essence of what is the Watchmen movie.

Watchmen is directed by Zack Snyder (of Dawn of the Dead and 300) and is written by David Hayter (The Scorpion King, X-Men, X-Men 2) and Alex Tse. The film is an adaptation of Alan Moore's highly acclaimed award winning graphic novel of the same name. Watchmen officially arrives in theaters everywhere on March 6th, 2009.
