Full Tron 2.0 Trailer at the San Diego Comic-Con This Year
February 7, 2009

Everyone knows that Tron 2.0 is one of my most highly anticipated movies coming up in the next few years. The first teaser trailer premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con last year, but I wasn't at the panel when it showed. Luckily I got to see it in 3D at a later point in time. But according to Radical Studios publisher Barry Levine (via io9), the full Tron 2.0 trailer is going to get its world premiere at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. For clarification, as we reported previously, that teaser from last year was test footage that director Joseph Kosinski made on his own and that Disney decided to show to gauge the reaction.
Levine, who is publishing Kosinski's graphic novel Oblivion, said the following during a panel today at the New York Comic Con: "This year, he's going to have a trailer, not of the entire film, but just what he's been shooting. He started shooting in April, and given his pedigree and what I know about the film and what I know about Joe—the film will be amazing. So he'll show that trailer there." What I think he meant is that he starts shooting in April. Kosinski has been building up his cast over the last few months, which includes Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, as well as Tron veterans Bruce Boxleitner and Jeff Bridges.
The San Diego Comic-Con starts on July 23rd this year and of course, we'll be down there again to bring you complete coverage. As always, the SDCC is one of the most exciting times of the year, and I can't wait to get back out there, if only just to see this new trailer. I'm especially curious to see how much Kosinski will have done and ready when according to Disney, Tron 2.0 isn't due in theaters until 2011.

Look, no offence but what is this predominate "graphic novel" denomination becoming more and more common in movie circles ? Call it for what it is. A Comic Book. Nothing more nothing less. The only difference is the price and the paper quality (mostly). Calling a comic for a novel is like referring to The Bible as history recollections.
Looking forward to the film btw.

This still sounds like a bad idea.

#1 Comic books are really short and generally only tell a piece of a bigger story, Graphic Novels are long, longer than some regular novels and usually tell a whole complete story. Imagine Harry Potter but with comic panels and seeing the whole story and reading that way.

I've kept quiet for all these stupid articles but why the hell is this such anticipated movie? Tron 2? 'Cause the first one was so good? The people that watched it then are probably rolling their eye wondering WTF? What's the deal with Disney suddenly trying to be cool? Man I wish they went bankrupt with Narnia. If it weren't for Pixar.

#1, congrats, you come across as not only another uninformed internet asshole with an unqualified opinion, but obviously someone who wouldn't fit into the graphic novel demographic anyway. It's 2009. Comics have outgrown you.
