Behind-the-Scenes of the Guggenheim Shootout in The International

One of the most impressive and entertaining scenes in the upcoming film The International is a shootout that takes place inside the famous Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Not only was it awesome watching Clive Owen battle a nearly endless number of henchmen, but it was mesmerizing imagining how much work went into pulling off a shootout this extensive without leaving as much as a single hole inside of the actual Guggenheim. Sony has provided us with a great behind-the-scenes video showing just how much work went into this and exactly how Tom Tykwer and his production team pulled this off. Enjoy!

The International centers on obsessive Interpol agent Louis Salinger (played by Clive Owen) who spearheads an investigation into one of the world's most high-profile and powerful banking institutions in an attempt to expose them for worldwide arms brokering, corruption and murder. Naomi Watts will play a Manhattan assistant district attorney who partners with Salinger to take down the bank.
The International is directed by German filmmaker Tom Tykwer, of Run, Lola, Run and Perfume: The Story of a Murderer previously. The original script was penned by first-time screenwriter Eric Singer. Sony Pictures is releasing The International in theaters everywhere on February 13th this month.

The only missleading thing is that the decsription missed out the fact that they built a who new set. Thats instantly clarified in the video however.
I dont know why but just by watching that small behind the scenes, Im quite pumped for watching the film, despite the fat I know nothing about it.

on conan. clive said this scene was the best directed action sequence he has taken part in. Which left me thinking…. What about children of men??? like, those long shots were spectacular. all the extras knew their part and played it well.
So when i go see this with my papa. i except to blown out of the seat by this action sequence.

Wow, that must have been a huge bitch to build. Big payoff though. I wonder if they just knocked it all down once they were done with it.

Awesome feature as well as action scene. It was really the only action sequence in the whole film, but extraordinarily done.

Frank Gehry got squat, since frank lloyd wright designed the guggenheim in the 1950's.

To tell you the truth, this is an incredibly intense action sequnce in the film on par with scenes from other intense movies like, for example, "Black Hawk Down". It gives the movie an cutting edge quality and I agree with others that is is done very well. Congrats to the director for this important scene in the movie…
