Geoff LaTulippe Adapting Breathers: A Zombie's Lament for Diablo Cody and Mason Novick

Breathers: A Zombie's Lament

Budding screenwriter Geoff LaTulippe is on a roll - his breakout script Going the Distance was on the Black List and is in development at New Line and now he's set to adapt a novel called "Breathers: A Zombie's Lament" written by S.G. Browne. In advance of its actual debut on bookshelves, LaTulippe is teaming up with producers Diablo Cody and Mason Novick (Juno, Jennifer's Body) to adapt the zombie novel and sell it to a studio. Sounds like one hell of a dream team. I'm sure the three are planning to whip up a "rom-zom-com" movie that, just as book does, "reinvents zombie culture for the 21st century."

Rumor: Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson for Jonny Quest?

Rumor: Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson for Jonny Quest?

One project we haven't heard from in a long time is Jonny Quest. I was a big Jonny Quest fan when I was a kid and was very excited when we first reported last August that it was headed to the big screen. However, it has gotten lost in a bit of production hell at Warner Brothers, namely because of the failure of Speed Racer. Out of nowhere, IESB has broken that silence to reveal three big names that are in the running for The Adventures of Jonny Quest, which is what this movie is being called. They reveal that Zac Efron might play Jonny Quest, Dwayne Johnson might play Race Bannon, and Andy Fickman might direct.

Stephen Colbert Predicts This Year's Oscars - Do You Agree?

Stephen Colbert Predicts This Year's Oscars

Everyone's favorite Comedy Central talk show host, Stephen Colbert, has predicted the Oscar winners this year, which, as he says, is "not bad considering I never seen any of the movies, I just look at the posters when I'm outside of the theater protesting." So how does he do it? Well, he uses The DaColbert Code, which is his power to find patterns where none exist. Colbert predicts: Penelope Cruz will win Best Supporting Actress, Kate Winslet will win Best Actress, Heath Ledger will win Best Supporting Actor, Mickey Rourke will win Best Actor, and Slumdog Millionaire will win Best Picture. Those sound about right to you?

Closer Look at the Bad Guys from G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra

Closer Look at the Bad Guys from G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra

Although we've all seen the Super Bowl TV spot for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, we remarkably still haven't seen a lot from the movie. More specifically, I'm talking about the "bad guys" from the movie. While a lot of various images from toys and toy boxes have popped up on the web over the last six months, I've been resistant in posting most of them because they were too low quality. However, a huge batch of toy photos from the on-going Toy Fair have popped up on Collider this weekend. And thankfully, some clear images of various Cobra members, including the Neo-Viper, Storm Shadow, and Zartan, have showed up.

Final Poster for Universal's Fast and Furious

Final Poster for Universal's Fast and Furious

Universal has debuted the final poster for the upcoming Fast & Furious reboot over on ComingSoon. It's a definite improvement over the first poster they put out. This is the perfect example of vastly improving the original poster with some smart design fundamentals, because this is a very sleek and impressive poster. But what I want to talk about is that I actually saw this Fast & Furious a few days ago and really enjoyed it. I can't talk about it much, but I wasn't disappointed, but I didn't have big expectations to begin with. The dialogue was pretty bad, but it was overshadowed by the awesome races and compelling storyline.

First X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot: Outcasts

First X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot: Outcasts

As promised, Fox aired the first of three TV spots tonight for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The remaining two TV spots will air over the next two nights and together they will form a short narrative revealing the origins of Wolverine. This is what we've all been waiting to see ever since Fox first unleashed the teaser trailer - dark and intense moments from the origins of Wolverine and damn does it look good! I really can't wait to see what they show the next two nights, because this was one hell of an intro and I'm sure there's plenty more to come! Stay tuned for the next TV spot tomorrow night during "House" at 8PM.

Wow - Another Stunning Watchmen TV Spot!

Watchmen

While every other previous TV spot we've seen has been about the energy and excitement associated with Watchmen, none of them have really touched on the tragedy and sadness associated with it. However, this one today finally shows us, albeit very briefly, the kind of emotions and tragedy that the characters in this world are suffering. I absolutely love the music in this and I really hope that it's part of Tyler Bate's score from the movie, and if it isn't, someone please tell me what it is. I'm completely caught up in Watchmen mania right now and all I'm doing now is just counting down the hours until I get to finally see it.

Finally, Here's a Fight Scene from the Street Fighter Movie

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

We've shown you new photos, new posters, and new trailers, but we haven't seen a full fight scene from Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li until now. Maybe it's my desire to try and prove to audiences that this could be good or maybe it's that I'm hoping this is at least good enough to be called a guilty pleasure, I'm not sure, but I thought I should share this with all of you today anyway. At least we'll know the fight choreography will be good, because this looks a lot better than most movies I see. I just hope that the rest of it holds up this well or else it is going to be one hell of an ugly mess that no one will want to see.

First Funny I Love You, Beth Cooper Trailer Hits

I Love You, Beth Cooper Trailer

In honor of today being Valentine's Day, 20th Century Fox has debuted the trailer for quirky teenage romantic comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper starring the lovely Hayden Panettiere. Here's the story - a nerdy valedictorian proclaims his love for the hottest and most popular girl in school, Beth Cooper (Panettiere), during his graduation speech. Much to his surprise, Beth shows up at his door that very night and decides to show him the best night of his life. It's another one of those cheesy high school comedies and not much more, but some people enjoy watching them and some like the occasional guilty pleasure.

Rumor: Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in Iron Man 2?!

Scarlett Johansson and Black Widow

Oh no, please say it's not true! According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel has been talking with Scarlett Johansson about replacing Emily Blunt as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in the upcoming Iron Man 2. The original news about Blunt taking the role first hit in January, but then at the end of January we reported that Fox had forced her, due to a contract signed for The Devil Wears Prada, to give up Iron Man 2 to take on Gulliver's Travels instead. So if Blunt couldn't make her schedule work, who would they get instead? Presumably someone else just as talented, right? Nope, they're looking at Scarlett Johansson!

Must Watch: Early Promo Trailer for The Descent 2

The Descent 2 Promo Trailer

This has been in development for quite a while, but this is our very first look at any footage from The Descent 2, the sequel to Neil Marshall's claustrophobic thriller from 2006. This promo trailer comes from the horror gurus at Bloody Disgusting although we're a bit upset that it's not the right aspect ratio. If I can be the first to say, this doesn't look bad at all. Okay, maybe it won't be as incredible as the first Descent, but it still looks as crazy and as scary as the first one. And for those of you skeptical about the story and asking why Sarah would want to go back down into the cave, well, check this out, it seems very plausible to me.
