More Viral - Full Skynet Research Website Launched
A couple of weeks ago, we announced that a Skynet Research website (for the upcoming Terminator Salvation) had popped up and was accepting e-mail addresses to sign up for more information. The official site has now fully launched and can be seen at: SkynetResearch.com. Not only does it have some more information, but there is an outreach program that looks like it has a lot of viral potential with user interaction and so on. Users can sign up to beta test various Skynet robots or design robots and so on. I might be missing something as well, so of course, let us know if you find anything else interesting!

A Few New Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li Photos
Call me crazy, but I'm actually looking forward to this - even more than Dragonball! Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li hits theaters in two more weeks, in case you forgot, and promises to be at least entertaining, right? We'll find out in a couple of weeks if that's the case. Right now I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. Although I'm very curious why we haven't seen another trailer or any new footage from this yet. And now Fox releases their final batch of photos? Now I'm officially nervous, which I have been all along, but this could just suck completely and I don't want it to! Check out the photos.

Wait, Was That Cyclops in X-Men Origins: Wolverine?!
Of all the various X-Men I was expecting to see show up in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I wasn't expecting Cyclops! Remember that promo Fox is doing next week involving three separate 60-second TV spots that they're showing starting on Sunday? Well, Fox aired a 12-second promo for the promo, and at first glance, it wasn't even worth mentioning. Nothing new to see, right? Wait a second, was that Cyclops?! I've never seen James Marsden mentioned anywhere or even heard that Cyclops would show up, but there he is, right there in the promo! Did they just show his cameo or is Cyclops actually in this a lot more?

Bootlegged Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Trailer Hits
I'm breaking my own rules to bring everyone this trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen today. It will officially be online on Monday, so I'm warning you now that this will be completely removed the moment it arrives. Until then, this bootlegged version of the trailer will have to do. This is showing in front of Friday the 13th, so if you want to see it high quality, please do yourself a favor and go to your nearest movie theater and watch it there. To be honest, seeing Friday the 13th would be worth it, as it's not a bad movie. But for everyone else too lazy or for those of you that hate horror, here it is.

Check This Out: Poster for Alex Rivera's Sleep Dealer
I'm sure this will get the attention of a few people. The teaser poster for Alex Rivera's Sleep Dealer has been revealed. The only problem is that I hated this film, I mean seriously hated it. So much so that I've neglected to mention it ever since I first saw it at Sundance last year (not this year). I don't care that it won awards at the fest or that a few other people liked it a lot more than me, I thought it was one big steaming pile of crap. That said, this poster is pretty sleek, I just wish there was a better film to go along with it.

Worth Watching - Feb 13: The People vs George Lucas Teaser Trailer
Does George mean anything to you? The People vs George Lucas is a documentary that delves into the impassioned feelings and opinions expressed by fans and foes of legendary screen icon George Lucas, and the many debates surrounding his legacy. The film will use a courtroom debate approach combined with fan films related to Lucas to make this the "world's first digitally democratic feature documentary." Although this teaser only shows just talking heads, it looks good and I'm already interested. It's rare I get seriously interested in a documentary but this is one that has me hooked, maybe because I'm a Star Wars fan?

2012's Institute for Human Continuity Website Launched
Sony has officially launched the viral website for The Institute for Human Continuity, which is the institute that is holding a lottery to give people a chance at survival when the apocalypse arrives in 2012. Yes, this is a big part of the viral campaign for Roland Emmerich's 2012 movie. In the teaser trailer, it asks, "How would the governments of our planet prepare 6 billion people for the end of the world?" The answer is, "They wouldn't." But the IHC website adds that, "The IHC will." Very interesting introduction. I'm impressed, this is a full-fledged campaign and I think a lot of people might believe the IHC really exists.

Universal Fast-Tracking Robert Ludlum's Parsifal Mosaic
Robert Ludlum is easily one of Hollywood's favorite authors. Universal has a first-look deal with Captivate Entertainment, the company that holds the rights to the Ludlum library, where it is exclusively given the opportunity to adapt any of Ludlum's 25 remaining unadapted novels. The Matarese Circle, which is headed into production this year, was sold before the deal with Universal is made, and because that became a high profile project when Tom Cruise stepped on board, Universal is getting a bit anxious. So they've decided to line up their own new Ludlum project, an adaptation of "The Parsifal Mosaic."

L.A. Confidential's Curtis Hanson Directing Gemini Man
Wait, that's not fair, I have to mention Curtis Hanson's other more recent films: Wonder Boys, 8 Mile, In Her Shoes, and the atrocious Lucky You. Yes, he did also direct L.A. Confidential and Bad Influence and The River Wild, but that doesn't mean he's an amazing director. Anyway, Hanson's next project will be the action thriller Gemini Man that has been in development at Touchstone / Disney for a long time. The script, written by David Benioff (25th Hour, Troy, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), is about a a brilliant, aging assassin trying to leave the game whose employers dispatch a clone of his younger self to take him out.

Ed Solomon Rewriting The Hardy Men Comedy Spoof
This project has been in development for a very long time - The Hardy Men, a comedic riff on the classic young-adult mystery novels about two brothers who solve crimes. This spoof deals with the Hardy Boys once they've grown up. Shawn Levy, of the Night at the Museum movies, is still attached to direct, while Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise still remain attached to star. Most recently, Mr. & Mrs. Smith writer Simon Kinberg put together a draft, but apparently Fox threw it out. Now they've hired screenwriter Ed Solomon, of Super Mario Bros., Men in Black, and Charlie's Angels, to work on a new version for the studio.

Steve Oedekerk Writing Stretch Armstrong Movie
So Universal is making a Stretch Armstrong movie? For fuck's sake! I'm sorry, but they've crossed the line. I can accept Hasbro inspired movies like Candy Land, because that could be fun in a cinematic way, but Stretch Armstrong? Of course, you can already guess what it'll be about - a superhero comedy based on the toy Stretch Armstrong. Steve Oedekerk, of Patch Adams, Jimmy Neutron, Bruce Almighty, and Evan Almighty, has been hired to put together a screenplay. "They are drawing filmmakers who find a real emotional connection and resonance, and this is proving to be a compelling driver for motion pictures."

Must Watch: First The Taking of Pelham 123 Trailer!
Sony has just debuted the trailer for their summer thriller The Taking of Pelham 123, a remake of the same 1974 movie that starred Walter Matthau. In this remake, Denzel Washington plays the subway officer and John Travolta plays the "bad guy" in a very taut hijacking cat-and-mouse kind of game. I really love this dynamic, with the tension that builds up while one is sitting in his office talking to the other guy, who is on the subway threatening hostages. Could make for a really great summer thriller, which is what I'm looking forward to seeing. Hopefully Tony Scott delivers a solid hit this time, unlike Deja Vu. Thoughts?
