Another Awesome New Crank 2: High Voltage Poster!
Lionsgate has release yet another poster for Crank 2: High Voltage today. The best part about it is the new tagline: "He was dead... but he got better." Oh man, besides Watchmen, this is probably the one other movie I'm ridiculously excited to see before the summer! We already revealed the first teaser poster for Crank 2 a couple of weeks ago, but this one definitely kicks things up a notch. The trailer look frickin' awesome, these posters look great, really, there's nothing else that I need to make me excited, because I'm already going to be the first in line when this hits theaters! Check out this newest poster below.

Christopher Campbell's The Moviegoer - Of Personal Interest
Last week, I focused this column on one kind of subjective moviegoing experience - that of seeing certain films with "beneficial companions." To continue the topic this week, I'd like to discuss the more common act of seeing films because of personal interest or relativity. It's such a typical reason to see a movie, that we don't even think about it most of the time. Those people who love football usually enjoy football movies, good or bad; the same may be true for people who love other sports and their corresponding films. And likewise, someone who loves dogs and/or has one may go see Marley & Me and Bolt and even Hotel for Dogs and will appreciate them subjectively regardless of what film critics have to say about their worth.

Futuristic Cloning Drama Womb to Star Eva Green
The lovely, radiant Eva Green (aka the Bond girl from Casino Royale) is set to star in the futuristic drama Womb, which centers around a widow (played by Green) who decides to clone her late husband. Hungarian filmmaker Benedek Fliegauf is prepped to direct his own script for what will be his first English-language film. Co-starring along with Green will be Matt Smith of BBC's "Dr. Who." While the title makes this sound like it could be a horror film, it's definitely not. "Womb is one of the most touching and impressive love stories we have read in recent times," said Michael Weber, managing director of the Match Factory.

Horror Film The Home Gets Producers and Artwork
Back in August we reported that Peter Jackson's special effects shop WETA had become attached to a small horror project called The Home. While writer/director Kristoffer Aaron Morgan is set to start shooting in New Zealand come spring, Bloody Disgusting tells us today that the project has secured a trio of new producers. The first two are the duo behind the French scare Inside, Franck Ribiere and Verane Frediani, which brings another horror/thriller element to the project. The third to join the team is none other than Elijah Wood, whose involvement is a bit quizzical, but acceptable. BD also nabbed some pretty outstanding early art for the film, which definitely gives me the impression The Home is on the right foundation.

Tom Tykwer Also Adapting Dave Eggers' What is the What
Last week we exclusively reported that German director Tom Tykwer was working on an adaptation of David Mitchell's novel "Cloud Atlas" with the Wachowski Brothers. While that is an exciting project, the book is apparently very hard to adapt, which is why it's not the only thing Tykwer has been working on recently. He told Film School Rejects today that he's also been working on adapting Dave Eggers' 2006 novel "What is the What: The Autobiography of Valentino Achak Deng." So what is this book all about? Well, it's a fictionalized account based on the real life story of one of the Lost Boys of the Sudan.

Disney and DreamWorks Distribution Partnership is Official
To quote Bob Dylan, "the times, they are a changin'." The Walt Disney Studios has agreed to enter into an exclusive long-term distribution arrangement with filmmaker Steven Spielberg and partner Stacey Snider, CEO of DreamWorks, to distribute all upcoming live-action motion pictures produced by DreamWorks under their partnership with Reliance Big Entertainment. Under the terms of this arrangement, Disney will handle distribution and marketing for approximately six DreamWorks films each year. The first DreamWorks film to be released under the Touchstone Pictures banner is scheduled for in 2010.

Fred Durst's The Education of Charlie Banks Trailer
Who would have ever guessed that Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst was going to become a great director? Although he directed The Longshots last year, his real debut was on a film called The Education of Charlie Banks, that is just hitting theaters now even though it premiered at Tribeca in 2007. The trailer for the film premiered over the weekend and is actually worth checking out. I really wasn't expecting this to look half as good as it does, so I've got to give Durst some credit for directing what looks to be a damn good film. I'm not sure why its taken so long to get to theaters, but it'll be out in March if you're interested.

Did McG Just Confirm That We'll See Arnold in Terminator Salvation?
While at the New York Comic Con over the weekend, I caught a presentation for Terminator Salvation moderated by director McG. He showed us an extended six-minute trailer that really gave us a better look at the story more than just the action and I've got to say it's looking awesome. Afterward, McG answered questions from the audience and obviously was asked about an appearance by Arnold Schwarzenegger. We've heard this question numerous times before, so I was expecting the same "you'll just have to see" kind of answer, but McG changed it up. Maybe I didn't catch it at first, but he might've just confirmed it!

First Look: Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Scott Pilgrim
And the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World news just doesn't stop! We've already written about it twice this last week and today we've got another debut. Edgar Wright has posted a photo on his MySpace blog of the lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who plays Ramona V. Flowers in the film. The story follows Scott Pilgrim, played by Michael Cera, who is a Canadian slacker and wanna-be rockstar that falls in love with an American delivery girl named Ramona V. Flowers, the same one we see above and below, but must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. If you've been waiting for your first look, well, this is sort of it.

Brett Ratner Helming Youngblood Comic Adaptation
Reliance Big Entertainment, the Indian company that just screwed over DreamWorks' funding, has acquired rights to Rob Liefeld's graphic novel Youngblood and has hired Brett Ratner, of Red Dragon, X-Men 3, and the Rush Hour series, to direct the adaptation. RBE paid an excessive mid six figures for the rights and has fast-tracked the project. Youngblood, first published by Image Comics in 1992, is about a superhero team sanctioned and overseen by the US government. "Most of the great graphic novels are gone, and Youngblood is one of the few comic books left with tentpole potential," Ratner told Variety.
