Christopher Campbell's The Moviegoer - Generally for Kids
I'm not typically the most kid-friendly moviegoer. In fact, I've gone so far as to complain about screenings purposed specifically for allowing babies. But there's no way I'm against seeing movies in auditoriums filled with children. I just prefer that such an experience be with a film that's appropriate for children. This means I do not want to hear infants and toddlers crying in a late night screening of an adult-oriented movie, and I certainly don't want to accidentally walk in to a "Baby Night" showing at my favorite drafthouse-type cinema, especially for a film as complex and attention necessitating as Synecdoche, New York.

Mike Dougherty Adapting Viper Comics' Dead@17
At this point in time, the rights to almost every comic book on the market have probably been snatched up, so even if it's an indie comic, it will eventually head to the big screen. The latest indie comic in development is Dead@17, a Viper Comics series written by Josh Howard. The news on this adaptation comes from an interview with Howard at Comics on Comics (via SlashFilm), where he says that Paramount producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is developing, X-Men 2 and Trick 'r Treat screenwriter Mike Dougherty is writing, and least exciting, High School Musical actress Vanessa Hudgens is being pursued for the lead.

New Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian Trailer
Let's give this another shot, shall we? I really hated the first teaser trailer for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - way too much stupid humor and jokes that just weren't funny at all. Not a lot of people agreed with me, but I'm here to voice my opinion and I did just that. Well, Fox has released a slightly upgraded international teaser trailer with a few minor changes, and fortunately, the improvements are good enough to keep me just barely on the verge of attacking this movie yet again, so I'll hold my tongue this time. Anyway, give this new trailer a shot and if you so please, let us know what you think.

Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson in James L. Brooks' Latest
After a handful of rumors regarding James L. Brooks' latest film, we finally have some confirmed details. Brooks is directing a project tentatively titled How Do You Know? for Columbia Pictures. Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd are in talks to star opposite Reese Witherspoon in what is being called a romantic comedy with a love triangle. Rudd would play a white-collar executive vying for Witherspoon's affections, while Wilson would play a professional baseball pitcher who is also a love interest. Brooks last directed Spanglish in 2004 as well as As Good as It Gets, Broadcast News, and Terms of Endearment before that.

Robert Rodriguez Directing Futuristic Nerverackers Next
Sorry guys, no Sin City 2 just yet. Variety has confirmed that the next project from Robert Rodriguez will be a futuristic thriller called Nerverackers. Set in 2085, the story centers on a character named Joe Tezca who is part of an elite unit dispatched to put an end to a crime wave in a theoretically perfect future society. I'm sure there's a lot more to it than just that, but let me be the first to say that I'm very excited to see Rodriguez take on this project, because I'm tired of hearing about his newest kids flick Shorts. Rodriguez will both written and direct Nerverackers for Dimension, the same studio he's been with for ages.

Ang Lee Helming Adaptation of Yann Martel's Life of Pi
Not to be confused with Monty Python's Life of Brian, Yann Martel's novel "Life of Pi" is set to be adapted by Taiwanese director Ang Lee. The story follows an Indian boy named Piscine "Pi" Molitor Pate who is the lone survivor of a sunken freighter that winds up sharing a lifeboat with a hyena, an injured zebra, an orangutan and a hungry Bengal tiger. So it's kind of like The Jungle Book and Noah's Ark combined, or at least that's my initial perception. The project is being developed at Fox 2000 and while there are older scripts around, including one by M. Night Shyamalan, Lee will find and hire a new writer to adapt.

Third and Final X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot: Legends
As promised, Fox aired the final of three TV spots tonight for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The previous two were shown the last few nights, the first called "Outcasts", and the second called "Brothers". However, this final spot, called "Legends", makes me take back everything bad I've said about this so far. This looks awesome! It looks like it's finally coming together and it won't be as big a mess afterall. I guess I just thought the initial footage seemed rough, but this looks polished. Even Deadpool and Gambit look great and I can't wait to see them fighting with Wolvie! Thank you for Fox for making me excited for this, too!

Ridley Scott's Nottingham Will Only Have One Robin Hood
The one reason that people are so familiar with Ridley Scott's Nottingham is because it was once revealed that Russell Crowe would be playing both Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. It was even confirmed by producer Brian Grazer at one point and it sounded like, with some screenplay trickery, it could work in the end. Good news - that entire idea has been scrapped! MTV talked with director Ridley Scott very recently and got a much needed update. First things first, they've renamed it to just Robin Hood, instead of Nottingham, which will clear up some of that confusion. Secondly, he's been working on the script.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Be in Stallone's The Expendables!
It looks like this will be the year Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his Hollywood comeback! Well, not exactly, but besides his rumored CGI appearance in Terminator Salvation, AICN has just learned that Arnold will be appearing in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables. They have a pretty trustworthy source - Stallone himself - so I don't we have to be worried that this is a rumor. Their source let them know that they've convinced Arnold to show up as himself, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, because Sly's character Barney Ross and Arnold "have some history back when the Gov was shooting Conan the Barbarian."

Must Watch: First Trailer for Derick Martini's Lymelife
Any indie comedy trailer that starts off with a Millennium Falcon reference in the first 20 seconds is pretty much solid gold. The first trailer for the film festival sensation Lymelife has debuted and I'm happy to feature it today. Seeing these scenes again for the first time since I saw them at Toronto last year has cheerfully reminded me why I loved this film so much. It may not be the best cut trailer around, but it does at least give us a good intro to the story and the mood within Lymelife. And you should get an idea of why Alec Baldwin is so brilliant and why Rory Culkin deserves so much praise for his performance.
