Worth Watching - Mar 1: Mark Webber's Explicit Ills Trailer
March 1, 2009

Another actor who tried his hand at directing recently was Mark Webber, who both wrote and directed the urban drama Explicit Ills. The official trailer has been out for a while now, but I haven't featured it yet, and that's because I wasn't too big of a fan of the film. But as always, I still like to put up trailers like this because there may be a few of you who will be happy to have discovered this film. It's an indie that needs all of the support it can get and so if you actually enjoyed this trailer, make sure you go out and see it. However, I've already seen it once and that was more than enough. It tried and failed pretty bad, in my opinion.

Explicit Ills is both written and directed by first-time filmmaker and indie actor Mark Webber, most known for his performances in indie flicks like Broken Flowers and The Hottest State. The film is comprised of four interconnecting stories revolving around love, drugs and poverty in Philadelphia, where Webber grew up. This first premiered at the SXSW Film Festival last year and was eventually picked up by Peace Arch Entertainment for distribution. Explicit Ills will be arriving in limited theaters starting on March 6th.

This trailer is better: http://www.pronetworks.org/index.php/independent_films/post/explicit_ills_release_dates_trailer_poster/
Mark Webber looks to be a fan of DGG's George Washington.
And mostly, TJ.

Looks pretty good, but at the same time not that interesting, maybe it was just how the trailer was paced, but it seemed much longer than 1:59.

God, I saw this at CineVegas. I wanted to shoot myself in the face so I would never have to watch such meandering, self-indulgent crap again.
