Minor Sin City 2 Updates From Rosario Dawson
March 5, 2009

by Alex Billington
If the only update on Sin City 2 that Rosario Dawson gave was, "I get to wear a mask in this one," I would be quite upset. But thankfully there's a little bit more than that, but not much. ComingSoon recently talked to Dawson, who's been fielding questions about Sin City 2 since 2005 (I remember her being asked at a press conference I was at in 2007), and got the same kind of script confirmations that we talked about in December. "I just talked to Frank about it though and said he finished it a couple of months ago so I'm really excited to get it going. Supposedly it's going to happen in 2009." Supposedly really means probably not.
When asked about her character Gail (seen above), and if there are any changes this time around, besides the aforementioned mask tidbit, Dawson reiterated pretty much exactly what we already knew.
"I think Gail is pretty much Gail. What you see is what you get. I don't think she's going to be poppin' out any babies and singing any songs or anything like that. What's actually really fun about it is that we get to investigate it a little bit more into the storyline that was actually in Sin City 2 - that middle chapter which is where Gail mostly was. Investigate a little more as to who is this man and what are they talking about when he's got a different face."
No one really knows when and/or if Sin City 2 will ever get made, but updates like this make it seem like a possibility. Back in December, Frank Miller himself said that he had finished the script and was planning to shoot in April of this year. We haven't heard any confirmation since then, but considering The Spirit flopped, I'm sure Frank didn't get far. Then we heard not too long ago that Robert Rodriguez was jumping on his own sci-fi project called Nerveracker, meaning he wouldn't be free until at least mid-2010. So unless Frank's trying to direct this on his own, which we wouldn't suggest, it looks like Sin City 2 is still stuck.
