Milla Jovovich Starring in Horror Feature Mile Zero
March 9, 2009
by Alex Billington
Speaking of Milla Jovovich, the actress has been cast in another upcoming horror project called Mile Zero. The screenplay, written by newcomer Holly Brix, is about a young woman who takes a job on an Alaskan oil rig so she can prove her father's innocence in a series of murders. Deception director Marcel Langenegger has been hired to develop the feature, which means he'll most likely work on revising the script before eventually directing it. Benderspink and Phoenix Picture are producing. Call me crazy, but I actually love a good arctic horror feature with a beautiful leading lady, which is why I want to see Whiteout.
Although I know these two have nothing to do with each other, this reminds of 30 Days of Night. That wasn't exactly a great film, but I loved the Alaskan setting, and I always enjoy good well-made arctic-set thrillers and horror films, because the environment plays into the story just as much as the villain(s). The big question with Mile Zero now is what (or who) the villain is - zombies, vampires, or just a serial killer? And whether it will actually be a gruesome horror film or more of a thriller? Either way, this will be something I know I'll be following. Hopefully Langenegger picks up his game this time around.

Holly Brix is a great writer. I read her sci-fi actioner called "ARK" and I loved it.
This sounds like a lot of fun. Anything in Alaska is cool.
