Ellen DeGeneres Coming Back to Theaters as Mother Nature!
March 17, 2009
by Alex Billington
Ellen DeGeneres as Mother Nature? This sounds about as crazy as Jim Carrey playing God! Are we sure this isn't another sequel to Bruce Almighty? Walden Media, who used to develop the Chronicles of Narnia films, has signed DeGeneres as Mother Nature in a currently untitled comedy that they are producing. There is no real explanation behind her appearance, except this corny tidbit. The say the idea comes from within Walden and DeGeneres "will return to Earth for the first time since the planet's creation." DeGeneres was last seen on the big screen (being heard in Finding Nemo doesn't count) in Edtv way back in 1999.
The screenplay for this was written by Jenny Bicks, a former writer for the "Sex and the City" series as well as "Men in Trees". Walden is hoping to fast-track the project for a potential summer shoot while DeGeneres is on hiatus from her show. DeGeneres said of the news, "I've always wanted to control the weather. Nothing will stop me from doing this… neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet. I may be thinking of the postal service - but I'm really excited about the movie." Nice joke, Ellen. Anyway, this should be a fun project, I'm interested in hearing more about it and seeing who they get to direct, as that might make all the difference.

Not to be a stickler, but doesn't Walden Media still develop the Chronicle of Narnia films? I believe Dawn Treader is due next year with them and Fox at the helm.

Ellen was attached to a remake of "Oh God" a few years ago. I have a feeling this is just a reworking of that material without using the title.

I didnt know Mother Nature was an insecure, mentally unstable, manic depressant, DIKE. If any other dikes on here actually like this goon, then youre a sheep, a pathetic and easily manipulated sheep. First it was that fat Dike Rosie who always made ignorant sheep cheer for her when she sang, if you could call it singing. Then along comes this big nosed Dike who makes sheep cheer for her when she dances. Pathetic. "do you love me yet mama?!? does anybody out there love me?!?" And whats the deal with idiots cheering when Emeril adds garlic to anything?!?! SOMEBODY EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, CAUSE I DONT GET IT!! Oh wait, cause other people cheer, so you have to cheer too, its the thing to do!!! Sheep.
