Angels and Demons Science and Religion Featurette
March 23, 2009
by Alex Billington
I don't know how I missed this, considering I'm a big fan of the book, but a new featurette for Sony's big summer movie Angels & Demons hit last week focusing on the battle between science and religion that is the theme of Dan Brown's book. Director Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks and Ewan McGregor talk about the ideas behind Angels & Demons and how they play into the story. It's actually a fairly fascinating and entertaining video. I'm a bit baffled that Angels & Demons doesn't have more buzz, but I'm guessing that Sony has been marketing it to the older demographics and not to the younger summer audiences.
Watch the "Science and Religion" featurette for Angels & Demons:
Angels & Demons is directed by prolific filmmaker Ron Howard, of everything from Willow to Backdraft to Apollo 13 to A Beautiful Mind to the previous The Da Vinci Code. The script was written by veteran screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, of Lost in Space, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code, and I Am Legend most recently. This film is based on Dan Brown's popular bestselling novel of the same name. Sony Pictures will be debuting Angels & Demons in theaters everywhere on May 15th this summer.

I dont like the Dan Brown movies and books. I like more the original books of Lincoln - Baigent - Leigh THE HOLY BLOOD AND THE HOLY GRAIL. In my eyes Dan Brown stole all the content of the books of Baigent and Leigh. So it has a bad taste always when I see the movies and this people earn money with the work of others…

Chubby baby christ on the cross, this looks funny!
The Illuminati, he he, this should be a comedy, religion is a joke at the best of times.
Are they going to blow up the vatican with a laser beam?
That might actually be a good way to get rid of a lot of protected child molesters in one go.

That's maybe a little over the top, I'm sure it will be entertaining.
But the vatican and pedophiles go together like R Kelly and urine.

OMG, been away for a while and have been waiting for a new tom hanks movie, and the rest of the cast looks amazing, but come on #5, a laser beam ha ha tom hanks would never do a film featuring a laser beam.

Instead of thinking and expressing how science is related to religion, i always expect the best from Mr Howard.

#8.
Ignant is a word that is used by idiots.
I think from what I've seen it's mumbojumbo, like the first film.

Taking into consideration that the film is made by one of the best directors of our times - Ron Howard, it can't fail our expectations.
