Drop Out Monday: Zac Efron Ditches Footloose, Amanda Seyfried Kicks Sucker Punch

As we all know so very well, Hollywood is fickle, and nothing is ever official until it's on film. Two big casting deals have fallen through today that we should mention. Zac Efron has officially dropped out of Paramount's Footloose movie after being announced back in October. Efron has said that "he didn't want to make a musical at this point [in] his career" and HitFix is reporting that he was "also incredibly disappointed in the script the studio was trying to fast track into production." Amanda Seyfried has also officially dropped out of Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch movie after being announced earlier this month.
We know why Efron dropped out, but Seyfried left not necessarily out of her own choosing. Entertainment Weekly says that HBO won't let her leave "Big Love" which starts shooting in the fall. Seyfried is currently working on Chloe with director Atom Egoyan, and will finish that up, then head back to "Big Love", in which she stars as Sarah Henrickson. Seyfried was set to play the lead character named Baby Doll. As far as we know, the supporting cast of Sucker Punch is still attached - Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Evan Rachel Wood, and Emma Stone. So who can Snyder find as a replacement? I've heard he might even go foreign.

He left Footloose!!! What am I going to do now? How will I go on? How am I gonna break this to my kids? I'm gonna go sit in a dark room in fetal position and shoot heroin just to numb the pain

Yeah but zefron is not in hsm4.
No good could come of that Footloose project. You know they were just trying to cash in on Zac's name with complete disregard to quality. Glad he's quit.

Hopefully, with Efron out, the Footloose project will just die.
But, sad to see Seyfried not coming on.

Snyder…ditch that cast please and kill the footloose crap. I wasn't able to enjoy that movie in its time but I still enjoy it and recognize what it represented and Bacon should kill Efron or shake his hand now that he's quit. Efron…WTF kind of name is that!?!
