First Look: Lars von Trier's Antichrist Indie Thriller

Now this is definitely a first look photo you've got to see! Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier has been hard at work on his latest feature film, titled Antichrist, since his last project The Boss of It All in 2006. This psychological thriller / horror film follows a married couple - Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg - who head to a cabin in the woods after losing their young son and run into some terrifying occurrences (like the one seen below). We've heard this project mentioned a few times previously, but thanks to Empire, this is our very first look at a photo from the film, and it's one hell of a striking and unforgettable introduction.
We're not really sure what this is all about, because although it seems like a passionate scene, the arms coming out of the tree makes things a bit creepy. According to some sources, Dafoe's character is actually a therapist trying to help his wife deal with her grief, and it's when that grief runs wild that things start to go weird. I'm actually very curious why the title is Antichrist, because that's not exactly a word used to describe anything that I'd normally want to see. Actually, in the bible, the word refers to one who fulfills Biblical prophecies concerning an adversary of Christ while resembling him in a deceptive manner. Interested?

The title might be somehow related to one of Nietzsche´s books, carrying along the same title. Just guessing though.

Actually, the anti-Christs were any of a number of false messiahs that rejected Jesus as the Christ, and promised that God would defeat Titus and the Roman army. In 70 AD the anti-Christ were were slaughtered by the Roman soldiers. This was God's judgement on Jerusalem for rejecting their messiah.
