First Look: DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon Promo

Although we won't be seeing a trailer for this for a while, the first promo image from DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon has popped up on the Brazilian site Animatoons. Currently slated to hit theaters in March 26th, 2010, How to Train Your Dragon is DWA's latest animated movie about the dragon Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third, voiced by Jay Baruchel, who must learn to become a hero. The movie is an adaptation of Cressida Cowell's children's book of the same name. This photo below isn't much, but it really is our very first look at anything from How to Train Your Dragon.

Meet Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, heir of the Viking chiefdom, but a boy with one very big problem: a hero he is not. How to Train Your Dragon is the riotous story of Hiccup's quest to hunt down the fiercest dragon, bring it into submission, and—hopefully—pass his initiation. Instead, he ends up with the smallest, most ornery dragon—it's even toothless! Thus begins the hijinx of the world's most lovable, unlikely hero and a most reluctant "beast." Packed with energetic drawings and plenty of action, this boisterous tale is just right for fantasy fans or anyone with a spirit of adventure. Thoughts?

The fantasy genre for 3D movies is getting a little tired. I love the fantasy genre, but there are other times and places. Also, the dragon looks wonky. It looks like something I could buy from Daz3D or Renderosity for cheapies.

I read the books and they were very funny and refreshing. If they keep the mood of the books, the movie should be good enough to launch a couple of sequels.
And by the way, the dragon in the image must be the small (cat-size) dragon belonging to Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Can't wait to see the first trailer…
