Matthew McConaughey Will Become The Lincoln Lawyer
March 29, 2009
by Alex Billington
Lakeshore Entertainment has announced that Matthew McConaughey will star in their upcoming adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer. Based on Michael Connolly's 2005 novel of the same name, The Lincoln Lawyer is a legal thriller that centers on low-level criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller who finds himself representing a wealthy client with ties to a previous murder case Haller handled. It looks like the screenplay was written by John Romano, of The Third Miracle and Nights in Rodanthe previously, although no director is attached to this just yet. We'll let you know when we know more about this.

i disagree he doesn't look like a good actor with the films he does most. Which are romantic comedies he does far too many of that genre but when he is in serious roles he is quite good. Like two for the money and we are Marshall i liked him in there he was good in tropic thunder too .

Is McConaughey finally going to try really acting by going back to his Oscar hopeful moment of A Time to Kill? Bravo to his agent, but I hope it's a trend and not a fluke.

I believe Matthew McConaughey can do real justice to his role as a criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller in the upcoming thriller movie 'The Lincoln Lawyer', if he does/has done extensive research by reading key chapters of the original 2005 novel written by Michael Connelly. I am confident of his acting skills but still believe he can excel in this pivotal role by understanding the minutest details of the character he will portray.
