Marvel Delays Thor and The Avengers An Extra Year!
We knew it was all too good to be true! Marvel Studios originally announced back in May of 2008 that Iron Man 2 and Thor would both be out in the summer of 2010 and that The First Avenger: Captain America and the highly anticipated Avengers movie would follow in 2011, but that schedule was just a bit too ambitious. Marvel has announced today that Thor has been delayed until June 17th, 2011 and that The First Avenger: Captain America has been pushed until July 22nd, 2011 to account for that change. Additionally, The Avengers has been delayed until May 4th, 2012, a complete 31 months from now.

Robert Mark Kamen Already Writing a Sequel to Taken!
Even after predicting that Fox had screwed it over, Taken went on to earn an impressive $119 million at the box office since January. The LA Times ran a fascinating article about Taken's co-writer Robert Mark Kamen, who is Luc Besson's partner-in-crime, and hidden at the very end was this juicy little tidbit: "With more action films in the works, including a sequel to Taken and an American version of District 13, a popular 2004 French thriller that Besson produced, Kamen says he's never been happier." Hearing that news will make plenty of fans, including those that helped Taken hit $119 million, quite happy as well.

Johansson In, Blunt Out of Iron Man 2; Rourke is Whiplash
Apparently Mickey Rourke wasn't the only actor who finally signed a deal with Marvel today. Nikki Finke also confirmed that Scarlett Johansson will be indeed stepping in to replace the originally announced Emily Blunt in Iron Man 2. Blunt was initially chosen to play Black Widow, but then Fox required her to star in Gulliver's Travels instead, due to a contract she had signed with them during The Devil Wears Prada. Finke says that, "Scarlett actually screen-tested for the role and didn't get it," but is the replacement that Favreau and Marvel chose, primarily because her agent signed her on for a very low pay out.

Atonement's Joe Wright Adapting Indian Summer
English director Joe Wright has already lined up his next project, an adaptation of Alex von Tunzelmann's book "Indian Summer". Wright has already finished his work on The Soloist, since Paramount shifted its release from November last year to April, will direct this next. First published in 2007, the book chronicles the last days of Britain's colonial rule in India and the symbolic end of their status as a world superpower. William Nicholson, of Gladiator and Elizabeth: The Golden Age previously, is adapting the book for Wright to direct early next year in India. Working Title will produce and Universal will distribute the film.

Orphanage Director Juan Antonio Bayona Helming Eclipse
From The Orphanage to Twilight. Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona has been hired by Summit to direct The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. It was initially rumored that Drew Barrymore might direct the sequel, but Summit has since decided to hand over the reigns to Bayona in the end. Eclipse is being shot back-to-back with the currently in-production The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and is already set for release on June 30th, 2010. Bayona is a protege of Guillermo del Toro, who originally found him and helped produce his first feature film, The Orphanage, after having directed numerous shorts and music videos.

First Look: Scott Pilgrim's Bands - Sex Bob-Omb and Demonhead
If you're a rabid Scott Pilgrim fan (like me) you'll be very excited to see these two new photos from Edgar Wright's blog that show us shots of Scott's band called Sex Bob-Omb and their rival The Clash At Demonhead. We've been following the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World photoblog for a while now. As far as I know, they've already started shooting in Toronto, and it just so happens that I finished reading through Volume 5 of the comic a few nights ago. So I'm probably way more excited than I should be, but oh well. Though I've got one big question - who the heck is playing Kim, the drummer for Sex Bob-Omb?!

Mickey Rourke Finally Confirmed for Iron Man 2!
Although he didn't win the Oscar, Mickey Rourke will get his big break this year. We initially reported that Rourke would be joining Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2 back in early January, but since then it's been a rocky road. In early February, news hit that Rourke's villain wouldn't necessarily be Crimson Dynamo. Then a few weeks later, news started to spread that Rourke's deal didn't go through with Marvel and he wasn't going to be in Iron Man 2 at all. Well, Nikki Finke has chimed in with an update saying Rourke's agent David Unger helped save the day and brokered a deal that has officially gone through and secured the role.

Jim Jarmusch's The Limits of Control Retro Poster
Three weeks ago no one knew anything about The Limits of Control, but now it's got a lot of early buzz, thanks to the new trailer that was put out last week. Cinematical got their hands on the official poster for the film today and it's quite wonderful. It has a very retro vibe to it and I love the look of it. It's great to finally see something different in the poster world these days, since we usually get nothing but ugly floating heads. Plus, it helps that I'm actually looking forward to this quite a bit. Jim Jarmusch hasn't directed anything since Broken Flowers in 2005 and it's great to finally see him back. Check out the poster below.

Screenwriter David Hayter Asks You to See Watchmen Again
This isn't a desperate plea from screenwriter David Hayter, it's an enthusiastic request from one true fan to another. Hayter has been working on Watchmen since 2000. It's more than just a passion project for him and everyone involved, including fellow writer Alex Tse and director Zack Snyder. It's sad that we've had to see two people involved with Watchmen write open letters (producer Lloyd Levin also wrote one during the legal battle), but this time, Hayter is truly dead on. "You there, with the Smiley-face pin. Admit it. All this time, you've been waiting for a director who was going to hit you in the face with this story."

Must Watch: Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell Trailer!
Sam Raimi, director of Evil Dead and Army of Darkness, is back with another throwback to old school horror. Drag Me to Hell stars Alison Lohman and Justin Long in a creepy and twisted horror adventure like no other. Universal has debuted the first trailer and it is quite incredible. I've seen Drag Me to Hell before and they've done the best job they could summing it up in a trailer. There are some awesome fights in it and that seance scene that you get a glimpse of is pretty frickin' awesome. I won't say more than that, but this trailer should do a perfect job of reminding Raimi fans why they love him in the first place!

Check This Out: Sony's Poster for Harold Ramis' Year One
Meet your ancestors... Sony has unveiled the official poster for Year One, the upcoming biblical comedy from director Harold Ramis. It's designed to look a lot like the Superbad poster (also a Sony release), but instead, it has Jack Black and Michael Cera with long hair and dressed in animal skins. While I didn't think any of the TV spots shown during the Super Bowl were particularly very funny, I'm still holding out hope for this in the end. I've got a lot of faith in Harold Ramis. Plus, I'd love to see Black and Cera act like fools in ancient times and laugh my ass off at their shenanigans. But will this poster actually sell audiences?

Danny Devito Set to Direct a Crazy Eddie Biopic
Believe it or not, there really was a real life salesman named Crazy Eddie. And interesting enough, Danny DeVito is set to direct a biopic about his life. Known as Eddie Antar, he became a pioneer in discount consumer electronics in the Northeastern United States in the 1970s, eventually expanding to 43 stores. However, Eddie had been skimming money and falsifying inventory to inflate stock value. He lost his company in a hostile takeover, then was charged by the SEC for stock fraud in 1987. He fled to Israel, was later extradited, and ultimately served a prison sentence until 1999 and was ordered to pay $150 million.
