James Franco and Danny McBride Re-Team for Your Highness
April 1, 2009
by Brandon Lee Tenney
After the outright success of David Gordon Green's action comedy Pineapple Express last summer, he's ready to have at it again by bringing James Franco and Danny McBride back together in the comedy Your Highness. Gordon Green first talked about this project in our interview with him last year. The film, set as a medieval fantasy, has Franco and McBride playing two spoiled princes who must embark on a quest to save their family and kingdom after an evil wizard casts a spell on their father and kidnaps the princess to-be. McBride wrote the script along with Ben Best and the film is being produced by Universal.
If anyone's star has been constantly rising, it's Danny McBride - with five films and an HBO series in the last year, and three more on the way, he's saturating the comedy zeitgeist. And I couldn't be happier about it. McBride is a very funny guy, and re-teaming with director David Gordon Green and James Franco will assuredly allow him to capture some of the same magic from Pineapple Express. There's sure to be some great action/comedy dispersed throughout Your Highness, and if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, the only way to improve upon the brawl in Pineapple Express would have been to add swords.

How is it anything like 'Year One' at all? I don't recall hearing about Merlin the Magician in the bible or Legolas the Elf in cave paintings :/
