Robert Downey Jr Promises Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger Iron Man 2

The Soloist star Robert Downey Jr. talked recently with ET Online about Iron Man 2, which starts shooting in the next few weeks. "The film is almost entirely about character, and yet we still have twice as much action as we did last time, so it's going to be nuts," he said. And here's the best part of his update. "Essentially Iron Man 2 is about looking behind the armor, or the armature, of a superhero. It's one thing to say you're Iron Man, it's another thing to be fully ready to do that." Apologies for that Daft Punk reference in the title, but I think it worked well, because that's exactly what we're going to get with this!
When asked about Scarlett Johansson taking on the role of Black Widow, Downey Jr said, "We've been rehearsing and she's in insane shape. She's getting lean and mean." I hope that's the truth, because right now I think she's the weakest link, and has a lot of hard work to do if she is indeed going to pull this off. I'm considerably excited for Iron Man 2 and can't wait to see what Jon Favreau and his screenwriter Justin Theroux have whipped up this time around, even with Johansson on board It's great to hear that it will be even more about the character this time, because as we all know, great characters make for great movies.

Look forward to Iron Man 2! Good to see things going in the right direction!
BTW, Alex, you should never apologize for Daft Punk

Well alex i think your right and worng about her being weak for the part. I mean look at terrance howard, he really hasnt had the best gigs, never starring just shadowing roles. than this came out and everyone liked him in it, i really think that its Downey that makes you want to step up your game.
The guy can do this in his sleep and to bring other actors in to this game with him that havent had the same line up as him is intimidating, The guy would totally make you want to be badass.

Respectfully, you know nothing about the Black Widow character. She is NOTHING like Scarlett Johansson, not in look, sound, style, demeanour, attitude or the way she carries herself, nevermind the fact she's the most dangerous woman in the entire world in hand-to-hand combat. Scarlett was a very questionable casting choice, however, if she gets in ridiculous tight shape, learns to kick butt and can speak with a convincing Russian accent, then perhaps she won't drag the role down. Scarlett is a satin and lace type of sexy, Black Widow is all about leather, guns and looks that kill. From my perspective, Scarlett is as much miscast in this role as Kirsten Dunst was for Mary Jane. Kirsten isn't sexy or a bombshell at all. Mary Jane is a freaking WILDCAT, and so is the Black Widow. You have GOT to capture the sexual intensity and inherent dangerousness of her character or you don't pull it off. End of story.

I think the closest thing we've seen to a character resembling Black Widow is Xenia Onatopp from 'Goldeneye'. She could fuck you or fuck you up, and you wouldn't know until it already was happening. And even then, you wouldn't be sure as to what her real game was. But she's so damn dangerously sexy, you'd take that chance.

I kind of agree with the weakest link comment. She a great actress and all, but I don't think she could bring the right charm or intensity of Black Widow.

The best thing about this movie is:
1- We get to see RDJ in the Bad ass suit again
2-The Assemble of amazing characters as well as amazing actors:Sam Rockwell & Mickey Rourke
I can't wait for the release.
The only thing i ma worried about is the involvment of Scarlett she is't that failing actress but she doesn't fit the role if you ask me or the way i see it,Emily Blunt should have taken the role.
I also wished that they havent change James Rhodes,I love Don Cheadle but this is what i sometimes hate about sequels when you start a movie with a character the actor should take the role of that character till the end.
