Behind the Scenes of Star Trek with Kurtzman and Orci

In honor of the world premiere of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek tonight in Australia, I thought it'd be great feature this new behind-the-scenes video interview that Hollywood Reporter posted. Writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (whom I interviewed previously about Trek) talked with THR about the challenges of rebooting a franchise like this, interacting with the fans, and whether or not there is a Tribble in the movie (an important question). There's no new footage, but it's still a great interview, especially if you're looking forward to the new Star Trek or are a fan of Kurtzman and Orci. Read on for the video!
A chronicle of the early days of James T. Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members.
Star Trek is directed by J.J. Abrams (of "Lost" and Mission: Impossible III) and is written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (of The Island, Mission: Impossible III, Transformers, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). This is the 11th movie in the Star Trek universe, following most recently Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002. Star Trek is set to land in theaters everywhere on May 8th, 2009 this summer!

Cool, can't wait for this! Looks so fucking cool, doesn't look anything like Star Trek, and yet that doesn't bother me at all. Probably because I kind of hated Star Trek: Nemesis.

I'm sure by now you've also heard that in Austin last night, Paramount pulled a bait and switch, and showed an audience expecting the Wrath of Kahn the new movie. Great marketing and audience targeting!
