Check This Out: Rupert Grint's Cherrybomb Promo Trailer
April 6, 2009
by Alex Billington
This isn't the lovable Ron Weasley we all know. Nope, Rupert Grint is leaving Hogwarts behind this time, taking on the rebellious role of a teenage troublemaker in the British film Cherrybomb. Thanks to our friends at Rope of Silicon, we've got a first look at a full promo trailer for the film. And despite all the choppy editing, it actually doesn't look half bad. In addition to Grint, young actors Robert Sheehan and Kimberley Nixon also star. You won't find much of a story in this promo trailer, but even without one, I'd say it at least looks like some coming-of-age punk fun, and I'm always up for more of that. Are you?
Watch the promo trailer for Cherrybomb:
Cherry Bomb follows teenagers Luke (Sheehan), Malachy (Grint), and Michelle (Nixon) as they embark on a wild weekend of drinking, drugs, shop-lifting and stealing cars. But what starts out as a game turns deadly serious when the three discover that they can't get off the wild ride they've set in motion.
Cherrybomb is co-directed by first-time filmmakers Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Leyburn. The screenplay was written by newcomer Daragh Carville, of only a film called Middletown previously. The film first premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in February, but hasn't yet been picked up by a US distributor. Stay tuned for updates, as I'm sure we'll have more information on this film soon enough!

Good to know he's getting his mandatory "I'm serious actor" flick out of the way.
The trailer makes me think the movie will be average.
