Mark Wahlberg, James Franco to Crash Tina Fey's Date Night

It looks like Tina Fey is bringing the whole family together for her comedy Date Night. Mark Wahlberg and James Franco are the latest two to join, and will star alongside of Steve Carell, Common, Taraji Henson, Leighton Meester, and Kristen Wiig. So what is this ensemble comedy about? The script written, by Josh Klausner, follows a couple whose routine night out turns into much more than dinner and a movie when they are mistaken for somebody else. Wahlberg will play a man working in private security, who deals with black ops and offers to help the couple, while Franco will play a dim con man and petty criminal.
Date Night is set to be directed by Shawn Levy later this year, who is coming off of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. He wanted to "populate every supporting role with formidable actors" on this project, "and people just kept saying yes." Sounds good to me, as he's rounding up quite a talented ensemble, and I'm already excited to see Steve Carell and Tina Fey as a couple. Production is set to begin later this year during Carell's hiatus from "The Office" and Fey's hiatus from "30 Rock". I'm probably most excited to see Mark Wahlberg getting back into comedy, as he has this and The B Team also in the works.

this is really shaping up to a great comedy lets hope the cast will carry most of the weight because i dont have much faith in Shawn Levy what so ever.

What a great cast and thank goodness Wahlberg decided to sign on to this when he is already doing "The B Team". I'm excited to see what he does with comedy…if he plays his characters anything like his cameo on SNL, this should be interesting.

First off, I love Mark Wahlberg.
Ok now that I have said my peace let me start the bashing:
I would understand if Wahlberg was signed on for Not Another Epic Scary Date Movie . But we're talking the big leagues here: Franco, Fey, and Carrell.
I'm a bit reluctant on Marky Mark rounding out the the Fantastic..errr. 3

I though from the look of James and Mark's look that it is going to be an action movie.
I wish it was but without Fey in the directors seat.
