Check Out This Scene from Shane Acker's 9 Animated Movie
April 19, 2009
Source: MTV
by Alex Billington
Although I certainly love Pixar, one other animated movie I'm really looking forward to seeing this year is Shane Acker's 9, the post-apocalyptic ragdoll movie that we debuted a great trailer for back in December. Since that trailer hit, not much else has been released publicly, although I did see an extended clip at WonderCon (but that was exclusively shown there). However, MTV has debuted a full clip from 9 today, and I'm breaking my own rules to bring this to you, mainly because I have such high hopes for it and I want to continue building some great buzz. If you're interested in this movie at all, then check it out below!
Watch the full scene from Shane Acker's 9:
You can also watch this full clip from 9 in High Definition over on MTV
9 is both written and directed by visionary filmmaker Shane Acker, of two previous animated shorts The Hangnail and The Astounding Talents of Mr. Grenade. The screenplay was co-written by Acker and Pamela Pettler (Corpse Bride, Monster House). 9 was first an animated short that debuted in 2005 and earned an Oscar nomination. Providing their voices for the film are Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Christopher Plummer, and Martin Landau. 9 will arrive in theaters on September 9th.

I thought the trailer was awesome. This clip is great too.
I think the whole concept of the film (post-apocalyptic ragdoll action-adventure) is quite unique and I am really looking forward to seeing it. I just hope the screenplay and the voicing does not let me down!
For some weird reason, the soundtrack reminded me of The Dark Knight. You know; full of anticipation and excitement.

man, i think this looks awesome!
if they don't dumb this down with fart jokes and stupid dialogue to appeal to the masses (like most movies do) then i think this could be a really cool and original movie
i don't know why producers and directors can't make smart "thinking man's movies" even for kids…but i'm afraid they are few and far between
this one looks like it has a ton of potential!

I LOVED the trailer immensely, so seeing an actual scene from the film really work well makes this one of my most anticipated for 2009, along with Avatar, Where the Wild Things Are, Sherlock Holmes, and Terminator Salvation.

THE NEWS
————-
Woody Harrelson attcked a paparazzo Thursday at New York’s LaGuardia airpot, smashing the TMZ photog’s camera. He later issued an apology stating:
“I wrapped a movie called `Zombieland,’ in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character,” Harrelson said. “With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie.”

hahaha "who i Quite Understandably mistook for a zombie"?… That's the best reason to attack anyone I've ever heard of!

Sadly this movie will probably flop in the box office. it has no target audience pretty much except for teenage boys. its not broad enough.

ok a few things. this went into production waaaay before littlebigplanet. (both the short, and the movie) i agree with pretty much everyone. it. looks. amazing. this clip is the most truly frightening, soul stirring, eyepopping, mouthdropping thing ive seen in a long time. a very long time. when i saw the short in 05 i was dissapointed. it seemed pointless, a nd it was so dark you couldnt hardly see a thing. when i heard about a 9 movie, i wasnt very optimistic about it. after seeing this clip, its on my must see list. cant wait!
