Dark Castle Adapting Alien Graphic Novel The Nye Incidents

Dark Castle Entertainment has picked up the rights to Devil's Due graphic novel The Nye Incidents, from sci-fi and horror novelist Whitley Strieber. The production company Dark Castle is one of Warner Brothers' horror-specific labels, with a filmography including House on Haunted Hill, Thir13en Ghosts, Ghost Ship, Gothika, and The Reaping. However, in developing The Nye Incidents, they're turning their attention from ghosts to aliens this time around. Inspired by true events, the graphic novel revolves around a medical examiner on the hunt of a killer of alien abductees. Sounds creepy to me, but maybe that's a good thing.
Lynn Devlin is a medical examiner who thinks she has seen everything Nye County has to throw at her. She copes with methodical, rational logic. But when a grotesque murder of a supposed alien abductee occurs that cannot be solved with her scalpel and microscope, Lynn finds her detachment is shattered, and her dreams haunted by large dark, oval-shaped eyes. Now, only one thing is certain: There's a killer loose in the alien abductee community… human or otherwise.
No screenwriter has been hired yet to write the script, however I'm sure Dark Castle is hearing ideas from various writers in Hollywood. In a change from the norm, they have hired a director already - Todd Lincoln - whose only past credit is a PA on From Dusk Till Dawn. This seems like a good idea now, and the story seems entertaining enough to make a good thriller, I just hope that this doesn't turn out as bad as some of Dark Castle's past films. I'm incredibly scared of aliens (no joke) and I'm somewhat intrigued to see this kind of horror story be adapted, but I'll probably be too scared to ever actually see it in theaters. You?
