Sofia Coppola to Shoot Somewhere in the Chateau Marmont
Yesterday we wrote about Francis Ford Coppola, today we're writing about his daughter Sofia Coppola, who is working on her fourth feature film. Variety announces that Coppola has cast Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning in her new project called Somewhere. The dramedy will be set at the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood and will follow a "bad-boy actor" stumbling through life who lives in excess at the hotel. With an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter, he is forced to reexamine his life. Sounds like she's getting back to her Lost in Translation roots; that film primarily took place at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo.

News Bits: New Wanted 2 Writer; Searchlight Picks Up Nice
There are a few good nuggets of news worth reporting today, but they're a bit small, so I thought I'd throw them together in one article. First up, Universal has hired a new writer for Wanted 2, the sequel to Timur Bekmambetov's summer hit from last year. Unfortunately, it's not anyone you might know. Evan Spiliotopoulos, co-writer of "Pooh's Heffalump Movie" and its spinoff, has been hired to write a script based on a story by Chris Morgan. In other news, Fox Searchlight has acquired the screen rights to Nice, a book by Jen Sacks, which will be developed and produced by Reese Witherspoon for her to eventually star in.

Inside Pixar's Up: Unlikely Heroes - Great New Featurette
I really love Pixar, have I told you that? We've seen trailers, and cute UPisodes, and now we've got another featurette from Pixar's UP to share with you today, courtesy of MySpace. The last Up featurette we ran was called Discovering a Lost World and it looked at the world that Carl and Russell find themselves in down in South America. This featurette looks at the relationship between these two "unlikely heroes" who end up on an adventure together. I know we've seen a lot from Up so far, and this video spends the first half explaining the story that we all know, but I always love seeing Pete Docter and John Lasseter talk about their movies.

One Final Trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
Warner Brothers has debuted the final trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which will finally hit theaters in just three more months (it also got moved up two days to July 15th). At this point, we've seen so many trailers (at least five in total), that there isn't too much footage we haven't seen before, however this one is very well put together and much more thrilling than the last few. I'll gladly admit that it's probably one of the movies I'm most looking forward to this summer. Also, every time I see a trailer, I keep wondering how the heck it's PG, because it definitely doesn't look tame. See the final trailer below.

What Exactly Will Brett Ratner Direct Next - Trump Heist?
Like many high profile directors, Brett Ratner has more than a handful of projects that he is attached to, any one of which could move forward at a moment's notice. So when Movieline got the chance to talk with Ratner, they literally ran down the projects listed on his IMDb page and got him to update almost all of them, including Conan and Beverly Hills Cop 4. However, the one he says is "closest to getting made" is a project called Trump Heist that we've never heard of until today, even though both Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock are attached. Want to know what it's about? Here's a hint - it sort of involves Donald Trump.

Last Official Poster for X-Men Origins: Wolverine Arrives
See the poster now, catch it in theaters in two weeks. Our friends over at IESB have debuted the final poster for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Unfortunately it's just a tweaked version of the very same teaser poster we posted in January. Is anyone else a bit upset by how unimpressive Fox's marketing campaign for Wolverine has been? I really hate when a huge high-profile blockbuster only uses one design for all of their marketing material. Everything I've seen, including billboards around LA, uses this same shot with the blades in front of him. Come on, try something new Fox! At least give us something that's different!

Some Disturbing Bruno Photos to Brighten Your Day!
Ah yes, Bruno, I'm pretty certain he's going to be the most controversial subject of the entire summer. We already saw the first trailer a few weeks ago, so this isn't our first look, but Universal has debuted a new batch of promo photos that should definitely cause a few of you to shriek in disgust. Okay, maybe they're not that bad, but I'm sure they're kinky enough to make a of few of you uneasy. I'm sure these will spread like wildfire around the web, though I hope none of you end up using any of these as your desktop wallpaper, or iPhone background, or anything similarly inappropriate. Anyway, feast your eyes on these beauties!

Must Watch: First Trailer for New Heist Movie Armored
Sony has debuted the first trailer for a new heist thriller called Armored starring Columbus Short, Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne, Milo Ventimiglia, and Skeet Ulrich. I love a good heist movie and from the looks of it, Armored should be quite entertaining. It seems to be both a bit comical and a bit thrilling, and I'm not opposed to that kind of mix, especially with the cast that they've rounded up. It really does look like some solid early fall entertainment. I'm not sure about Nimród Antal's directing just yet, but at least it has the cast and it has the story, and that's what counts the most for now. Check this out below!

Green Lantern Shooting in Australia With a $150M Budget
So now do you finally believe that they're actually making a Green Lantern movie? Every time some news like this comes out, the geeks are a buzz in a frenzy of excitement. It seems no one believes that this will ever happen, so when a bit of news about, let's say, the budget or shooting locations hits, everyone acts like it was just greenlit today. I thought we confirmed that last September? Anyway, THR reports that Green Lantern, to be directed by Martin Campbell, will shoot at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney. Additionally, Warner Brothers has approved a $150 million budget for Campbell, so it should look pretty damn good.

Ron Perlman Hoping Bubba Nosferatu Will Shoot This Year
With Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II now behind us, I'm anxious to see Ron Perlman on the big screen again. I Sell the Dead won't get a big release, I'm planning on catching Mutant Chronicles via On Demand sometime this weekend, and Thomas Jane's The Dark Country doesn't have a release date yet. So what else is on his plate? One of the many projects listed on his IMDb page is one called The Devil's Tomb, directed by Jason Connery, although unfortunately it's going straight-to-DVD. Another one is the Bubba Nosferatu sequel, which we updated in October of last year, reporting that Perlman was officially set to star.

Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro Will Be in Black and White
While perusing the news on Variety, I came across an article looking at the prospective line-up at the Cannes Film Festival this year, which I will be attending. In the article, author Todd McCarthy lists all of the big American and foreign directors that will most likely be showing up at the festival in France with their films. One of them is Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola, who is back again this year with a new film called Tetro. The last time we heard anything about this project was way back in 2007, when it was first announced. The most interesting update is that Tetro is actually going to be in black and white.

Documentarian Errol Morris Directing a Cryonics Dark Comedy
Famous documentarian Errol Morris, director of the Academy Award-winning doc Fog of War as well as one of my personal favorites, Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time, is prepared to helm his second work of cinematic fiction for Mandate Pictures -- the Untitled Cryonics Project, as it's currently called -- according to Variety. Although it will indeed be a fictional story, Morris won't be straying too far from the real as it's based on Robert F. Nelson's memoir "We Froze the First Man" (find it on Amazon) as well as a story that aired on NPR's This American Life entitled You're Cold As Ice, which can be listened to online.
