First Look: Timothy Olyphant in The Crazies Remake

First Look: Timothy Olyphant in The Crazies Remake

So we've written about the remake of George Romero's The Crazies a few times previously, including the first teaser poster and their Twitter account, but this is our official first look at a photo from the movie. Bloody Disgusting debuted this new photo in conjunction with their set visit report, which is a pretty good read if you're really into this. Seen below is Timothy Olyphant, believe it or not (he looks a lot more like Adam Baldwin), with some battle wounds from fending off the hordes of "crazies" in his town. Unfortunately this is all we get to see for the time being, as the production is still shooting in Georgia.

Kristen Bell to Star in Andy Fickman's You Again for Disney

Kristen Bell

Actress Kristen Bell has been cast as the lead in Disney's comedy You Again, to be directed by Andy Fickman, who most recently directed Race to Witch Mountain. Written by Dave Johnson and Moe Jelline, You Again is about a girl who's horrified to find that her brother is marrying the very girl who made her life a living hell in high school. Yep, it's your standard Disney teenage comedy, and sadly one of my favorite actresses is going to star in it. This is Fickman's third consecutive project with Disney (he's also got Monster Attack Network lined up there, too), meaning he's got one hell of a deal and they like quite a damn bit.

Duncan Jones Wants to Make a Blade Runner-Like Sci-Fi Mystery Next

Duncan Jones

Most of you haven't seen the brilliant sci-fi film Moon yet, but once you do, I know you'll all want to see more from Duncan Jones. Although he is only now just breaking into feature filmmaking, after directing commercials for a British ad agency, he's already on his way to becoming one of the next big things. So as is always the case, we've got to know what's next for Duncan Jones. Well, thankfully Popular Mechanics has an interview (there are major spoilers in that interview - so do not read it unless you've seen Moon) with Jones where he talks about a project he's got in the pipeline coming up. Fortunately, it's another sci-fi film.

Supporting Cast Set for Russell Brand's Get Him to the Greek

Rose Byrne, Elisabeth Moss, Sean Combs

For those who might've forgot, Get Him to the Greek is a spin-off feature film based on Russell Brand's character Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall last year. The script was again written by Nick Stoller and Jason Segel and Universal is putting it into production in August this year. Russell Brand and Jonah Hill are both set to star. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the supporting cast will include Rose Byrne, Elisabeth Moss, and rapper Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs in his first big screen role since Monster's Ball. Byrne will be taking on the role that Emily Blunt was originally rumored to be cast in.

McG's Terminator Salvation Will End Up Rated PG-13

Terminator Salvation

McG can't trick us any longer, the truth is out there. A few weeks ago, a PG-13 rating was discovered on the promotional Pizza Hut site for Terminator Salvation. It was an early indication that McG had lost the battle to get his movie rated R. I didn't mention it at the time, because it all seemed a bit sketchy and wasn't confirmed by the MPAA. However, Fox is set to air an "Extended Look" at Terminator Salvation tomorrow during "Bones", and the promo spot that aired on Monday for that also featured a PG-13 (via SlashFilm). That's a sure enough sign that it is indeed going to be rated PG-13, whether McG wants to admit it or not.

Breck Eisner Updates Flash Gordon and Black Lagoon Remakes

Breck Eisner

Breck Eisner has a lot of remakes on his plate - he's shooting The Crazies in Georgia right now, and is attached to direct both the Flash Gordon remake and the Creature from the Black Lagoon remake once he's finished. We've heard tidbits about both projects previously, but Eric at Arrow in the Head got a full update from Eisner on both of them. Unfortunately, neither project is ready to go, but the writers on each are working hard to get a script ready for studio approval. Eisner says, "I love them both, they're both big movies. I think I will push both of them forward at full pedal and hope one of them goes first."

Michael Chabon is Revising Andrew Stanton's John Carter of Mars?!

Michael Chabon - John Carter of Mars

Wow, would anyone have guessed that Disney might hire Michael Chabon to revise a script? Well, to be fair, Chabon is credited for the story in Spider-Man 2, and has probably been revising plenty of scripts in Hollywood uncredited for a while. Last week, Nikki Finke reported that Chabon had changed agents, and listed in that update a credit for John Carter of Mars. Following that mention, the Chabon fansite The Amazing Website of Kavalier & Clay went out seeking confirmation, and finally heard back from Chabon. "I've been hired to do some revisions to an already strong script by Andrew Stanton and Mark Andrews."

Ghostbusters 3 Will Have Psychotrons and Multiple Dimensions?

Ghostbusters 3

So here's what we know about Ghostbusters 3 so far: "Office" writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are writing the script; Sony is hoping to release it in 2011; the story is about a group of new, young Ghostbusters; and all of the original cast will be back and will supposedly play "mentors." Well, we have another update on this sequel, this time from Harold "Dr. Egon Spengler" Ramis, who spoke with MTV. "There will be a whole new generation that has to be trained, and that whole new generation will be led by an individual who you'll all love when you meet him but I'm not going to tell you anything yet." Oh, really?

Must Watch: Official Trailer for Lars von Trier's Antichrist

Lars von Trier's Antichrist Trailer

Remember that incredibly striking photo we posted a few weeks back of Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg making love in the roots of a giant tree? Well, Zentropa has released a trailer for that film, Lars von Trier's Antichrist, and it's even creepier than you might imagine. I can't say I'm at all familiar Lars von Trier's past work, but I will say this looks fantastic. Maybe I'm just sucked in by how beautiful it all looks and the work done by cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle (who just won an Oscar). I'm not sure how many other von Trier fans there are, but maybe Antichrist will transcend his normal fan base?

TCM's List of the 15 Most Influential Classic Movies

Turner Classic Movies - It Happened One Night

In celebration of their 15th Anniversary, Turner Classic Movies has launched a new website and started a feature called TCM Dailies. I'm admittedly not as well versed in some cinematic classics as I should be, and it's hard to find some good guidance and suggestions (well, in addition to AFI's list). However, this week TCM is featuring the 15 Most Influential Classic Movies (via Rope of Silicon), and I'm enthusiastic about exploring all of the films on this list. I could've just kept this to myself, but I thought it would great to share this with all of you, and if I do find the time to watch a few of these, let you know about what I think.
