Must Watch: Official Trailer for Lynn Shelton's Humpday
May 6, 2009

Magnolia Pictures has debuted the trailer for the Sundance hit Humpday over on Apple. If you don't know what this is about, then skip the intro and jump right to the trailer, because I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it. Humpday stars Mark Duplass and Josh Leonard and debuted at Sundance to quite a bit of early buzz. It's a mumblecore comedy simply about two best friends who take a dare way too far. In watching this trailer for the first time since see Humpday way back in January, I'm still a bit taken aback by the conversational style of it, but it's still a good flick. Another film I'll say is worth your time this summer - watch and enjoy!
Be sure to read my review from Sundance and check out Bob Stencil's interview with the cast as well.

Humpday tells the story of two straight college friends who reunite after years apart, fall back into their old habit of competing in increasingly outrageous dares in order to one-up each other, and, at the end of a wild night out, challenge themselves to have sex together in a gay porno for an art film contest.
Humpday is both written and directed by filmmaker Lynn Shelton, of We Go Way Back and My Effortless Brilliance previously. Because this was highly improvised, there are no other writers credited. This film first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, where it sold to Magnolia Pictures for somewhere under $1 million. Humpday will now arrive in very limited theaters starting on July 10th this summer.

Can't say I'm as excited as the others… but to me this is similar to Zack and Miri Make A Porno… just with two guys. I suppose them being straight makes it funny, but I don't find homosexual people any funnier so whatever to this movie…
