Brand New On-Set Photo of Downey In Suit as Iron Man

Not that we haven't seen what Iron Man looks like, but it's great to see him back in the suit again! People magazine scored a photo of Robert Downey Jr. on set shooting a scene for Iron Man 2 on location in Inglewood, California yesterday. The scene they were shooting involved the famous Randy's Donuts shop (you can find more about that over at SlashFilm). What's most interesting about this photo in particular, however, is that you can actually see the digital markers on the suit so that ILM knows where to add effects. It's awesome to see a practical suit of armor, but it's cool to see the behind-the-scenes version as well.
Director Jon Favreau posted a recent Twitter update mentioning the following: "ILM on set today. Doing a mix of practical suits and Imocap, their version of on set motion capture developed originally for Pirates 2." Now we have a photo to go along with that caption (or vice versa, however you want to look at it). A week ago, we debuted the first official photo for Iron Man 2, featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in his own Hall of Armor. Favreau is shooting right now mostly in and around Los Angeles. We're not sure when we'll have more photos (or when we'll see Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow), but we'll keep you updated!
