Brand New US Trailer for Armando Iannucci's In the Loop

Even though you may not be the biggest fan of British films, there is one coming out soon that I have a feeling most of you will want to see. In the Loop is sort of "The Office" meets British politics. A brand new US trailer from IFC has debuted over on FunnyorDie.com today. The film debuted at Sundance earlier this year and has been receiving considerably positive reviews. We previously featured a trailer for In the Loop a few months ago, but this one is catered a bit more to American audiences. I'm not expecting it to be a big hit, but those of you find this funny should definitely make an effort to see it in theaters this July.
Nev Pierce over at Empire says in his review of In the Loop: "Spinal Tap meets Strangelove. A satirical demolition of Whitehall and Washington: politically astute, hilarious and terrifyingly real."
Watch the US trailer for Armando Iannucci's In the Loop:
The US President and UK Prime Minister suddenly fancy a war. But it'll be quick this time. Promise! General Miller doesn't think so and the British Secretary of State for International Development agrees. But after he accidentally backs military action on TV, he suddenly has a lot of friends in Washington DC.
In the Loop is directed by Scottish filmmaker Armando Iannucci, of "Time Trumpet" and "The Thick of It" British TV shows. The screenplay was co-written by Iannucci, Jesse Armstrong and Simon Blackwell ("Peep Show", "The Thick of It"), and Tony Roche. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is being distributed by Optimum Releasing in the UK and IFC Films in the US. In the Loop hits theaters in the UK on April 17th and arrives in limited theaters in the US starting on July 24th.

This film was excellent. Literally the funniest thing I've watched in the past 5 years, and so cleverly written.

Can't wait. The last war-farce that held a candle to Strangelove was Wag The Dog. This looks brilliant. "Nazi Julie Andrews".
