John Gaeta Talks About Ninja Assassin with Boing Boing
In one of the few times we'll ever link to the website Boing Boing, they've posted a new interview with visual effects supervisor John Gaeta. While he's best known for his work on The Matrix trilogy and Speed Racer, Gaeta also worked on James McTeigue's Ninja Assassin, which is (oddly) the focus of the interview. It's odd because we still haven't seen a trailer or anything else for the movie, so I don't know why they randomly have an interview with Gaeta about it, but they do. There's not much new footage to be seen in this, but it's a good watch for those who are fans of Gaeta's work or interested in Ninja Assassin. Check it out below!

Exclusive: Two Brand New Photos from Terminator Salvation
Screw you Star Trek, bring on Terminator! Warner Brothers has sent over two exclusive new photos from Terminator Salvation, which hits theaters in just a few more weeks. We're one of a few sites debuting new photos today, so be sure to check out all of them. The first photo below shows Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright standing in front of a recognizable Los Angeles landmark. The second photo below shows Christian Bale as John Connor talking with another Resistance leader. I actually just saw Terminator Salvation recently, and while I'm not allowed to say much, I will say it easily surpassed my expectations.

Second Full Trailer for Will Ferrell's Land of the Lost
Universal has debuted the second full length trailer for Land of the Lost, the summer comedy starring Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Anna Friel, and Jorma Taccone. We've previously seen a Super Bowl TV spot and a full length teaser trailer, which makes this only an extended version of what we've pretty much already watched before. There are some new scenes in this trailer, plenty of them actually, but it doesn't look any better than before. Sorry to say, but I think Land of the Lost looks just plain awful. All of the CGI looks terrible and Ferrell's dialogue isn't even funny at all. Who knows, I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

Benicio Del Toro's Wolf Man Movie Adding More Action?
If Universal hadn't moved The Wolf Man, we would've all have seen it by now. Late last year, Universal announced that Joe Johnston's remake of the classic Wolf Man starring Benicio Del Toro was being moved from April 3rd to November 6th. We thought it was simply a strategic move in order to better feature what looked like a great movie so far, but apparently there might be more to the story. Dark Horizons has received a report from a reader who was in attendance at a British Film Institute event this past weekend, where stuntman Vic Armstrong let slip that he was working on a new scene from The Wolf Man.

Must Watch: Woody Allen's Whatever Works Official Trailer
Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the official trailer for Woody Allen's latest comedy Whatever Works starring Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood. This isn't the best trailer (SPC has a reputation of bad trailers), but it is at least an honest look at the latest Manhattan-set story from the mind of Woody Allen. I had the opportunity to see this a month ago and loved it (you can read my reaction here). It's everything you'd expected from a Woody Allen movie, but with Larry David, it's even kookier than I imagined it ever could be. Even if you're not normally a Woody Allen fan, this is one movie you might just fall in love with!

Sound Off: J.J. Abrams' Star Trek - What Did You Think?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Who would've thought that J.J. Abrams could reboot one of the greatest science fiction franchises ever and pump it full of new life and energy? But did it live up to all of your expectations? Were you a Trekkie who hated it or a non-Trekkie who loved it (or vice versa)? Did J.J. Abrams pull off one of the most exciting origin stories we've seen in a long time, or was it a dull, boring, geeky ensemble mess not worth all the hype? Sound off below, leave your thoughts, and let us know what you thought of Star Trek!

Take a Ride on Disney's Christmas Carol Train Across the US
Although there hasn't been much marketing for Robert Zemeckis' A Christmas Carol, Disney has some big ideas in the works, and one of them kicks off on May 22nd. Departing from Union Station in Los Angeles is a Train Tour that will travel across the country to over 40 cities before arriving in New York City the last weekend of October. On display inside the train's six passenger cars is a full-fledged exhibit for A Christmas Carol featuring a digital concept art gallery, artifacts from the Charles Dickens Museum, a performance capture exhibit, and lots of interactive games. Zemeckis calls it "a rolling Disneyland exhibit - only it's free."

Next Up for Marc Forster is Disconnect, Not World War Z
As much as I'd love to see a World War Z movie next year, it looks like that won't be the next project for director Marc Forster. As announced today via Variety, the next gig for Forster will be a tech thriller called Disconnect that is being developed by the indie company Nala Films. Written by Andrew Stern, the script explores the mystery of how people live in today's wired world, where the technology meant to bring them together only forces them further apart. I'm not sure if that means it'll involve some sort of high concept global threat or a small scale interpersonal struggle, but it should be interesting to see either way.

Samuel Jackson Developing a Real Life Pirating Movie
Samuel Jackson's Uppity Films and H20 Motion Pictures have joined forces to secure the life rights of Andrew Mwangura, a negotiator between pirates and the owners of vessels hijacked off the coast of Africa. The two companies will together develop a feature film based on Mwangura, with Samuel Jackson set to portray the cinematic version of the character. Mwangura is a freelance journalist and ex-marine engineer who runs the Seafarers' Assistance Programme, a nonprofit group that offers humanitarian aid to all seafarers. No writer or director has been hired, as this project is still in the early developmental stage.

Nifty Interactive Teaser Poster for Gerard Butler's Gamer
It looks like Lionsgate has finally settled on an name for Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's follow-up to Crank: High Voltage. The futuristic action flick is now known as just Gamer (it was previously know as Game or Citizen Game) and is still set to hit theaters on September 4th. Over on UGO they've debuted the official teaser poster, but instead of going for just a static poster, it's actually interactive. Remember that awesome interactive poster for Terminator Salvation last year? Same sort of idea, and this one is pretty cool if you know the concept behind this movie. Check it out and stay tuned for a trailer probably very soon.

Darren Lynn Bousman Remaking Kaufman's Mother's Day
No not that Charlie Kaufman, we're talking about Charles S. Kaufman! Back in 1980, Kaufman brought us the cult classic Mother's Day, about two brothers who engage in murder and rape to impress their deranged mother. Twisted Pictures, the Genre Co. and Rat Entertainment are moving forward on a remake of Mother's Day, with former Saw series and Repo! The Genetic Opera director Darren Lynn Bousman helming. "We're taking the iconic image of a mother, the most comforting and nurturing person in the world, and perverting that into something that is punishing and sadistic," exec Richard Saperstein said.

Neill Blomkamp's District 9 Finally Gets a Real Poster
Sony has debuted the official poster for Neill Blomkamp's District 9, which you've probably heard about quite a bit recently (or seen the trailer). This new poster isn't so subtle in its introduction of the aliens, but at least they don't show what they really look like. Last year the viral teaser poster was plastered all over Comic-Con and was our first real hint at what was to come. I'm actually not too fond of this poster at first glance, I guess because it's a bit too bland and that shooting silhouette is a bit cheesy for my tastes. But I guess this is how they're selling a movie that has no big names (except for Peter Jackson) to audiences.
