Two New Concept Art Pieces from James Cameron's Avatar
More goodies from Avatar! Our friends at MarketSaw have scored two new official concept art pieces from James Cameron's Avatar, revealing a full shot of the powersuit / mech that we got a glimpse of earlier this week. There's also another concept art piece with some sort of futuristic helicopter being chased by, presumably, the Na'vi on their planet (riding some of their creatures). These are official, as MarketSaw confirmed them with Fox and got their approval to run both of them. These pieces apparently come from the pages of the forthcoming The Art of Avatar book that is due out on shelves in December. Check these out!

Fox Hires a Commercials Director for Their Alien Reboot?
It looks like Fox is getting a bit desperate. Not only are they moving forward on the Robert Rodriguez Predators reboot, but it looks as if the rumored Alien reboot is officially moving forward as well. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Fox has hired Carl Rinsch, a commercial and music video director, to helm the new Alien. The only good news is that apparently Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott and Tony Scott are all on-board to produce via their own Scott Free Productions. Rinsch has apparently worked for Scott Free as well and isn't necessarily an outsider (you can see some of his work online). Is there any hope for this?

Funny People Has a Viral? First Yo Teach Videos Appear
Huh? Apparently there's somewhat of a viral floating around for Judd Apatow's Funny People. Though it's not really a viral, but rather some footage made for the movie that has ended up on YouTube. In the movie, Jason Schwartzman plays a character named Mark, a self-obsessed TV actor who stars on an NBC sitcom called "Yo Teach." He described the show as fitting in between "Dangerous Minds and The Cable Guy" where he plays a teacher who teaches kids who "have been written off by society, but my heart is too big to let that happen." Apparently some early videos from "Yo Teach" have popped up online (via The Playlist).

DreamWorks Animation's Line-Up Through 2012 Announced
Jeffrey Katzenberg has announced the line-up for DreamWorks Animation through 2012 today. The studio plans to release five feature films every two years, which is a step up from their two films per year previous release schedule. They will release one or two sequels every year along with an original project. "We now have three very successful franchises, but we also want to tell new stories," Bill Damaschke says. I'm glad they want to tell new stories and not just rehash the same crap again, but let's continue. In addition to some title changes and casting announcements, the studio has announced five original projects today.

First Early Photos from A Nightmare on Elm Street Remake
I'm sure everyone knows about the Nightmare on Elm Street remake that's currently in-production with Samuel Bayer directing. We also know that Jackie Earle Haley is playing the new Freddy Krueger alongside of a cast of young actors. So how about a photo of Haley as Freddy? No problem! Unfortunately, it's not that great of a photo, and thus I'm not even calling this a "First Look" because it's hardly that. But for those who are anxious to see something from the new Nightmare on Elm Street, the first shots are up courtesy of JoBlo. Apparently the scene being shot involves Freddy watching over a school playground. Sounds creepy.

Tom Cruise is Doing a Comedy Next and Joins Wichita
Just a few months ago, no one knew what Tom Cruise would be starring in next. He had around seven different major roles to choose from, all with something unique to offer. However, Variety is reporting today that Cruise has decided to go with Wichita, the "action comedy" at 20th Century Fox that he will star in with Cameron Diaz. It came down to a choice between Motorcade and Wichita, and Cruise went with the latter. Walk the Line and 3:10 to Yuma director James Mangold will be helming Wichita, in which Cruise will play an undercover agent who gets thrown together with a single woman who has "man trouble."

Adam Brody and Seann William Scott Join A Couple of Dicks
Two more actors join the cast of Kevin Smith's new comedy A Couple of Dicks. Seann William Scott and Adam Brody will star alongside of Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan. The script, written by Robb and Mark Cullen, follows a maverick cop (Willis) and his partner (Morgan) who, while tracking a valuable stolen baseball card, tangle with a memorabilia-obsessed gangster and rescue a Mexican beauty who holds the key to millions in laundered drug money. Scott plays a thief known as the Shit Bandit for the "souvenirs" he leaves at his robberies. Brody is an abrasive detective not happy to be working with Willis and Morgan.

Great New Trailer for Christian Alvart's Sci-Fi Pandorum!
Whoa! I didn't want to use the "must watch" tag again, but this definitely needs to be watched! A second new trailer for Christian Alvart's sci-fi thriller Pandorum has debuted over on MovieWeb. We featured the first trailer for this back in March and it looked pretty fantastic then, but it looks even better now. Not only are there some finished visual effects shots in this, but we get to see a little bit more about the story, including that the ship contained some 60,000 passengers that have all since disappeared. I'm getting a bit of a Event Horizon or even Firefly vibe from this and its got me incredibly excited - I can't wait to see it!

Jean Claude Van Damme is Going Horror in The Breed?
Either JCVD really helped get Van Damme back in the biz, or he's desperate to make some money. The horror gurus at Arrow in the Head are reporting that Jean Claude Van Damme is joining a horror project called The Breed. AITH caught up with JCVD in Cannes, where he revealed that after shooting a movie called Weapon in the summer, he'd shoot The Breed next. "It's a great story, great script with true emotion. I want to show the fans I am transferable. I wanted to make a horror movie a few years back, but the script was weak and had no direction." Apparently this script was a lot better, as JCVD obviously took the job.

Terrible Promo Trailer for Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant
You don't have a lucky crack pipe? An early promo trailer has been "leaked" online (via Collider) for Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans, the Werner Herzog remake of Abel Ferrara's 1992 cult classic Bad Lieutenant. It stars Nic Cage, Val Kilmer, Eva Mendes and, worst of all, Xzibit. I'm not sure if Herzog has just lost his mind or what, because this looks awful. Sure, I understand that Cage's character is supposed to be losing his mind, but still, it looks terrible. I think I would've preferred a Ghost Rider 2 with Cage and Mendes instead of this. Some of you will love it, of course, but I just really can't appreciate any of it.

Jonah Hill Promises 'Insane' R-Rated 21 Jump Street Movie
Sometime last year it was announced that Jonah Hill was in negotiations to write and executive produce an adaptation of the popular 80's TV show 21 Jump Street. The show starred Johnny Depp and Holly Robinson Peete, amongst others, and was a crime drama about an elite squad of young undercover cops. It seemed odd that Jonah Hill would be tackling this and even odder that it might become a comedy. In a recent interview with Hill over at Complex, though, he promises something a bit different. "We're not even spoofing the movie. It's not strictly comedic, either. We're doing a full-on action movie, blowing shit up."

Must Watch: David Twohy's A Perfect Getaway Trailer
After months of delays, the first trailer for David Twohy's A Perfect Getaway has debuted. The tropical thriller stars Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich as a couple who take a vacation to a remote island in Hawaii only to discover that they're being stalked by some psychopaths. Those two are joined by Timothy Olyphant, Kiele Sanchez, and the new Thor, Chris Hemsworth. This actually looked pretty good - right up until that CGI axe came flying at the screen. The hyper-active montage following that shot also looks a bit intense. Maybe it'll be crazy? I'll be checking this out for sure, but I'll be going in cautiously optimistic. Enjoy!
