Official Trailer for Kevin Spacey's Ensemble Drama 'Shrink'

What happens when the people we count on to hold us together…are barely holding it together themselves? Jonas Pate's Shrink is a striking, fast-paced exposé of the "other" Hollywood, featuring folks living outside their comfort zone and the people who put them there. That's how the introduction to Shrink reads and it's a lot better than I could have ever written. I saw this at Sundance and thought it had some issues. It wasn't my favorite film there, but looking back on it in this trailer, I'm actually kind of excited to see it again. Although Kevin Spacey is the central figure, it's really an ensemble drama about a variety of people in Hollywood.

Unable to cope with a recent personal tragedy, LA's top celebrity shrink (Kevin Spacey) turns into a pothead with no concern for his appearance and a creeping sense of his inability to help his patients.
Shrink is directed by Jonas Pate a filmmaker from North Carolina of only The Grave and Deceiver previously as well as a handful of TV show episodes. The screenplay was written by newcomer Thomas Moffett of only Frost previously. This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and was eventually bought by Roadside Attractions. Shrink arrives in limited theaters starting on July 24th.

If you want to see a drama involving a shrink, watch the pulse pounding HBO series, "In Treatment".
This looks more to me like a comedy vehicle that could just as easily star Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler.
