Nick Stoller is NOT Directing The Adventurer's Handbook

If you're trying to remember what The Adventurer's Handbook is about, let me give you a little hint. Written by Jonah Hill and Max Winkler, The Adventurer's Handbook is an R-rated comedy about four 20-something guys who, inspired by a book of the same name, set out overseas in search of a mysterious location described in the book. It made headlines back in February when Hill sold the spec to Universal for upwards of seven figures. Hidden in an article in the LA Times about Universal's upcoming slate is mention that Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller would be direct this starting next March.
This is the first time we've ever seen or heard Stoller's name attached to The Adventurer's Handbook, as originally it was reported that Akiva Schaffer might direct it, but I think he's a good fit anyway. Stoller is one of my favorite up-and-coming comedy directors and I'd love to see someone as talent as he take the reigns on this project. It also fits right in with what the LA Times' says about Universal going with more comedies and event movies since those have been the most successful for them recently. I hope both Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman are still attached to star. We'll try and get some confirmation on this. Thoughts?
Update: So before I even had a chance to confirm this with Universal, my friend Rodrigo Perez at The Playlist emailed me to inform me that he was contacted by one of the writers and was told that the LA Times had screwed this up. Stoller will not be directing The Adventurer's Handbook, instead, Hot Rod's Akiva Schaffer will be, as originally reported. It was just a slight mix-up on the part of the LA Times. Woops!
