Angarano and Eisenberg Sign On for Max Winkler's Ceremony
June 9, 2009
by Alex Billington
Guillermo del Toro isn't the only one mentoring up-and-coming filmmakers - Jason Reitman is doing the same, too. Reitman will produce a comedy called Ceremony which will be the directorial debut of Max Winkler. Michael Angarano (Snow Angels) and Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland) are signing on to play the two friends that the film is about. When one of them (Eisenberg) falls for an older woman about to be married, he drags along his friend (Angarano) to a beach town in an effort to break up the wedding. Upon arriving, they quickly realize just how out of place they are among the British groom-to-be and his guests.
Max is the son of actor Henry Winkler; he helped write the upcoming Jonah Hill comedy The Adventurer's Handbook and directed the web series Clark and Michael starring Michael Cera and Clark Duke. "Jason encouraged me to write this movie," Winkler told THR. "His company works with first-time filmmakers and he's really taken me under his wing. It's nice to have somebody who has been there before and can help you with the anxiety and questions." Production is due to start this fall, with casting under way for the other roles. Sounds like a fun indie comedy with a solid cast so far. We'll be keeping a close eye on Ceremony.

Aside from being a well know actor, Henry Winkler is also a very big television producer… not too hard to get in the biz when your Dad runs in those circles…
