Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper Confirmed for The A-Team
June 9, 2009
by Alex Billington
We keep hearing rumors off and on about who might be in The A-Team movie, but now we finally have some official casting. Liam Neeson is in negotiations to play Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, the leader of the group, while The Hangover's Bradley Cooper is in early talks to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck. We previously heard a rumor about Cooper being in the role a month or so ago, so it's good to see him get confirmed. As for Neeson, that's quite a big name that I definitely wasn't expecting, but there's a reason for that. Instead of going campy again, this will have a tone closer to Mission: Impossible and Ocean's Eleven.
Smokin' Aces director Joe Carnahan is directing from a screenplay written most recently by Skip Woods (Hitman, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) that was polished by Carnahan and his actor friend Brian Bloom. Ridley Scott is producing with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell for 20th Century Fox. Production begins in late August for a June 11th, 2010 release. Actors for Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock and and Sgt. "B.A." Baracus haven't been officially announced, although Woody Harrelson and Common were rumored for each role, respectively. Could this turn out much more badass than we were expecting?

I hope they take a more serious approach to this movie. I do like the idea of a Oceans 11 or Mission Impossible feel. Just need to give it some good action.
They better not fuck with the van and give it some fast and Furious bullshit.

This is sounding like an awesome cast!!!! It will be really interesting to see it develop!
Liam Neeson was amazing in Taken, if he can bring that level to this then you cant ask for more.

It's good to see Neeson moving on in life. Obviously still hurt, you cannot just sit around and wait for things to pass by. Way to go man!

I'll run with it. Huge fan of the show as a kid, mostly in part to Mr T and the translation of the campiness as "really cool" action sequences (I was only 4). I hope they can recapture what made the show cool to all os us when we were young with as much cheese and camp.

Um wait! Mr. T is not only still alive, but still a true bad-ass, why is he not attached to this film? You put him in and it'll rock. Common is NO Mr.T, not even close!! Without Mr.T this'll look as bad as the G.I. Joe movie (which looks like complete crap!). GET MR.T !!!!!!

I am not sure I like the idea of a updated version of the A-team although it was pretty popular 20 years ago.
