Rumor: Michael Sheen May Play Blofeld in James Bond 23?!

Don't take this news too seriously. British newspaper The Guardian is reporting that actor Michael Sheen has been cast in the upcoming Bond 23 as Blofeld, the leader of the evil organization SPECTRE. Well, their article actually says this comes from the Daily Express, although this is the kind of rumor I'd expect someone like The Sun to come up with. They say that, "Michael is hot property right now and it is felt that he's the right man to bring Blofeld back to life." Really? Come on, they just announced the screenwriters for Bond 23 last week, do you really expect them to have official casting as well, especially without a director?
Ernst Stavro Blofeld, as he's known, is the head of SPECTRE, the evil organization responsible for many of the evil plots in numerous James Bond movies. Fans know exactly who he is and were hoping to catch a glimpse of a new Blofeld in Quantum of Solace. His distinguishing features include a scar on his face, a bald head, and a white Persian cat that he's never without. It could make sense that SPECTRE is in in Bond 23, but I really doubt that Sheen has been cast this early on. Back in May, it was rumored that Sheen would be playing a villain in Tron 2. So maybe the Daily Express just thought he was talking about Blofeld instead?

I can't see the original now without laughing my @ss off!!! Thank you Dr Evil…. That said, I hope he can shake the Dr Evil in order not to make the character a "Caricature of a Caricature"

#5, I was kinda wondering that in Casino Royale, take the approach Chris Nolan did and tease the next movie, lead up to the SPECTRE conspiracy… was SPECTRE even in Ian Fleming's books?
That's fine. The next Bond does need a bit of the old Bond formula.
The bad guys in the last 2 movies weren't very devious. They were just altering the stock market and messing with some third world country's water supply. Let's get some crazy going on here!

If I'm correct, there was a lawsuit settlement that prevents EON from ever again using Blofeld or SPECTRE, since they were created by Kevin McClory and not Ian Fleming.
Probably why QUANTUM was created.

Yeah, although Michael Sheen's brilliant and would make an awesome Blofeld, I don't believe its possible because of the lawsuit since EON aren't able to use SPECTRE, but they may make a Blofeldesque character and use the QUANTUM organisation instead.

#7, Ian Fleming created both Blofeld and SPECTRE long before the first foot of film of Sean Connery as JB was shot!
Who the hell is Kevin McClory?
