Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart in Love Happens

Sometimes when you least expect it… You should be able to tell from that photo and the title of this, Love Happens, that it's a chic flick, or at least a romance. Universal has debuted the first trailer on Yahoo today for this delightful little romantic drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart. I'm a sucker for the occasional tearjerker like this and this time they really got me. I don't expect this to be one of the best romances of this decade, but there's something about the painfully sad look on Eckhart's face and the shyness of Aniston's character that got me. This obviously isn't for everyone, but I'm looking forward to it.

A romantic drama about a widower (Aaron Eckhart) whose book about coping with loss turns him into a best-selling self-help guru. On a business trip to Seattle, he falls for a woman (Jennifer Aniston) who attends one of his seminars, only to learn that he hasn't yet truly confronted his wife's passing.
Love Happens is directed by Brandon Camp, of only Dragonfly from 2002 and the TV show "John Doe" previously. The screenplay was co-written by Brandon Camp and his writing partner Mike Thompson, also of Dragonfly and "John Doe." Universal is bringing Love Happens to theaters on September 18th.

At least this looks better than He's Just Not That Into You. Plus Aaron Eckhart is coming off of his great performance in The Dark Knight.
The Goo Goo Dolls probably made this trailer better for me though.

I trust in Aaron Eckhart. I haven't seen one movie where his acting sucked.

Although this flick doesn't feel too fresh in a few aspects, I have to admit it looks like a really strong feel good movie that I think people could learn from. Like compassion?
I'm kind of looking forward to seeing this flick.
Now I just need a gf to go see it with. Hah! ;( So sad and pathetic… I know.

I'm just looking forward to it because it's set in Seattle.
And I'm glad they showed some pretty cool Seattle shots in the trailer as well.

Ooooooh! Jennifer Aniston in a formulaic romantic movie. I can't wait to see this!
She's so nice. Why can't she find a nice man?

@ 3, I also have put my trust in Eckhart too. However much the Goo Goos got me sad, (total copy of City Of Angels draw), it feels a it too contrived. I think it's that I don't believe in Aniston as another funky-hippy-whimsey flu up, which she was so great at in Friends With Money. Also, the "wackier" BFF of hers, (and I like this actress) rings of a modern era Joan Cusack-style sidekick ala Working Girl.
So yeah, maybe with another female lead. The sotry looks great though and I WISH they didn't show the turning point "I didn't go to her funeral".
Alex, can you PLEASE run a story on what is happening with so much of the movies given away in trailers?!!! Whose in charge of cutting this? Am I missing something?

Looks nice! I know everbody says that Aniston just makes romantic films and stuff, but i don't know why, all her films look different every time, even if it's the same theme…That's curious.Love her eyes!

Alex,
I second b's request (@ #14): you should run a story, or a poll, on why US trailers regularly narrate the WHOLE movie. In chronological order.
Do American viewers need reassurance? Do majors still perceive American consumers like a bunch of retarded kids that need guidance and clarifications?
This is a puzzling phenomenon for some of us Europeans (the others just don't care, or are focused on soccer).
Best,
Alex
