So Will Roland Kickinger Be Marcus Nispel's Conan or Not?

Here's an interesting story. Way back when, before anyone had even seen Terminator Salvation yet, news hit that an Austrian bodybuilder named Roland Kickinger had been cast to play the T-800 instead of Arnold Schwarzenegger. As we later found out, he was cast for his body, not his face. But now numerous sites are reporting that Kickinger has been cast in Lionsgate's Conan reboot that Marcus Nispel will direct. One of those sites is the Risky Biz Blog, run by the Hollywood Reporter's Steven Zeitchik, and they usually run only officially confirmed news. However, El Mayimbe on Latino Review is claiming this is all bullshit.
So who is right? Well, Zeitchik says that Kickinger is "in talks," which means it's not official. But they were convinced enough to run a story. On the flipside, El Mayimbe claims that "I have a super solid source at both Lionsgate and Millenium and they laughed their asses off!" I trust both guys, and they both have good sources, so who the heck is right? I have a feeling that THR is running this because it's too good to be true - there are "eerie similarities" between Kickinger and Schwarzenegger. And why not use a guy who looks exactly like him? That also may be the reason why he isn't Conan. Maybe they want a new look. Maybe?

God, I hope not. What's the point of making another Conan if you don't have some star power attached to it? I would rather it not be remade at all if all we're going to get is an Arnold knock off.

Arnold wasn't a star before he did Conan. Just sayin. I think it's a bad idea to get a lookalike. The nostolgia factor wears thin after 20 minutes of it (anyone see Superman Returns?)

I think this would be cool, its not like they are twins, they will look and act differently and this guy is ripped, who wants to see a stupid cheesy ass wrestler as Conan, I want someone unknown that cna pay homage to the original and this guy seems perfect.

Arnold was a lousy Conan. He made it campy with his goofy voice and "duh" look. In the books, Conan may be uneducated, but he's sharp as a tack.

I hope its gritty and real, not some polished piece of crap. Viceral, dirty. Someone with a realistic physique not puffy but hard and scarred. Its not a cake walk in cimmeria
