Paramount Picks Up Dan Bradley's 'Hellified' Action Movie
June 26, 2009

It looks like Paramount has found their own version of Universal's upcoming Dante's Inferno project. The studio has just picked up a supernatural action spec script called Hellified written by Andy Burg (K-9, Alaska) that "involves a journey to hell." Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce and Dan Bradley (seen in the photo above), the former stunt coordinator who is directing MGM's Red Dawn remake, will direct. No more additional details were revealed about the story or much else, but it sounds like Paramount wants to turn this into a big, exciting action movie where the hero travels to hell (and back).
THR is saying that this script is screenwriter Andy Burg's "new act as an action writer." I really hope this is as good as they're saying, but if it sold to Paramount, then its probably going to kick ass. As for Dan Bradley, he sounds like the big up-and-coming director to keep our eye on. Not only is he directing MGM's big remake of Red Dawn, which seems like it'll feature a hell of a lot of action, but now he's going to follow that up with this, too. Either he's got a great agent or an amazing demo reel (or both). I wish we knew more about Hellified, but it looks like we'll have to wait to hear more on the story at a later point. Stay tuned!

An action movie set in hell. Could be really cool or really, really stupid. I'd love to see a movie done right about hell. It's a subject no one wants to talk about but has so many possibilities on what you could do with it. Can't say the people involved in it impress me much but I guess we'll see.
