Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand Co-Starring in a Road Comedy?!

If you didn't already hear, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced 134 new members today. Among the new inductees is Seth Rogen, comedic actor extraordinaire. We know he's working on The Green Hornet as we speak and has a whole handful of other projects lined up afterwards, but there is one project you just have to hear about. Rogen is attached to and developing a road (trip?) comedy called Mother's Curse that he'll co-star in with Barbra Streisand. Yep, you heard that right, the same Barbra Streisand that brought us "Happy Days Are Here Again" and played Mrs. Focker in Meet the Fockers.
I don't really know where this news originally came from, but Drew McWeeny on HitFix confirmed with Rogen himself that it is a legitimate project in development at DreamWorks. They're still working on a script and their may be some rewrites in the future, but Rogen referred to it as "one of the many projects I may or may not do in the next fifteen years." I'm not reporting on this because I'm excited, by any means, but because this sounds like something I definitely do not want to see, ever. The first movie that pops to mind when I think of a road trip comedy involving a parent is Martin Lawrence's College Road Trip. Exactly.

How can you not be excited for this? I know the idea of a road comedy with a parent involved doesn't sound great, but Rogen always seems to deliver. Plus, Streisand actually has good comedic value. If this is left in Rogen and Company's hands, this could be quite the funny flick.

Weird. I'm open to it, though.

^Exactly. My only agreement here is that this will suck but not for Alex's stupid reasons but rather, it has Barbara Streisand in it. I mean, seriously, how is that not the reason?

I think that this could have good potential, especially with a hard R thrown on it. I agree with Dead the Poet that Streisand is really funny, probably my favorite part of Meet The Fockers, and some kind of road-trip where he gets stuck with his over-bearing jewish mother could be really fun.

"Seth Rogen, comedic actor extraordinaire" this is a joke right, no way this can be a real statement. Could he be the worst of all time/or most over-rated of all time. I cannot believe Barb needs the money to work with this HACK!

Streisand is a pro-she is no dummy, contrary to what some of you dummies posting on this site might assume. That's why she is worth $300,000,000.00 and living in Malibu. If this odd couple make a comedy together, you better believe it will be worth the effort.
