Unbelievable Trailer for Steven Soderbergh's The Informant!

Don't worry, this isn't truly "unbelievable," I just love this promo photo that Apple used. Warner Brothers has debuted the trailer for Steven Soderbergh's The Informant starring Matt Damon as FBI informant Mark Whitacre. Okay, this actually looks funnier than the Couples Retreat trailer that just debuted earlier today. I didn't know what to even expect, but damn, this looks great! I frickin' love Steven Soderbergh so damn much. He's unbelievably versatile and can direct almost anything, comedy, drama, indie, thriller, almost anything. With Matt Damon leading the way this time, it looks like he's got a solid hit on his hands!
Watch the trailer for Steven Soderbergh's The Informant:
You can also watch the trailer for The Informant in High Definition on Apple
The government decides to go after an agri-business giant with a price-fixing accusation, based on the evidence submitted by their star witness, vice president turned informant Mark Whitacre (Matt Damon).
The Informant is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, of Out of Sight, Traffic, Solaris, The Good German, the Ocean's Trilogy, Che, and The Girlfriend Experience most recently. The screenplay was adapted by Scott Z. Burns, of The Bourne Ultimatum previously, and is based on Kurt Eichenwald's book of the same name. Warner Brothers is bringing The Informant to theaters on October 9th this fall.

Wow - looks like Damon saw Burn After Reading and said:
"Stephen! We gotta make one o' these!"
And I mean that in a good way.
It looks genuinely entertaining, funny, well made and

Holy crap, Scott Bakula! =O
I used to watch his show, where he travels through time and stuff, when I was a kid. I loved it!
(Unfortunately I forgot what it was called.)
Also, this looks awesome.
Thank god, Matt Damon is a better actor than is best friend Ben Affleck. >.<

it looks funny, but honestly, im confused as to what is going on or the motive of the film. i dont have a good grasp of what the movie is really about or how it truly stands out. im sure that the film is good, but the trailer isnt that good/doesnt showcase the film so well.

#13: The film is based on the book by the same title. It tells the real-life story of Mark Whitacre, a rising star in Archer Daniels Midland who agrees to become an FBI informant. Unfortunately, he is also bipolar and believes he is living a real-life version of a John Grisham novel.
#14: This film was made before Burn After Reading even came out. Secondly, this really happened, in roughly 1997. Therefore, by your logic, BAR is an attempt at being The Informant.

Looks better than Burn After Reading. Burn After Reading was hollow and pointless and the actors looked like they were trying too hard. Damon looks awesome in this.

Hmm, didn't crack a smile once with this one. I can see what they're trying to do but it didn't strike me as particularly funny. Looks like one of the films that you'd be lucky to find on DVD when it comes over from the US.

Should be a good movie. I remember this case. I used to always watch This Week with David Brinkley and ADM was their major sponsor and when this stuff all came out there was some interesting fallout on the program.

Looks funny. I'm from Decatur, IL so I'm looking forward to this.
To Chris, if you've read the book, you can see how it'd be somewhat funny. The guy Damon is playing really was a pretty crazy guy. I don't know if it'll be in the movie or not, but there was a period of time where he got the events of his investigation mixed up with an episode of a crime show he had just watched.
Real life makes the best comedy sometimes

I am from Decatur, IL where this took place and I actually saw some of the filming being done and saw Matt Damon several times. Never got to meet him though. I didn't know they were turning it into a comedy though. It's kind of weird. But I still plan on seeing it regardless.

I too am from decatur and i work at ADM. didn't think it would be a comedy.
the mustache is stupid. can't wait to see it. not gonna pay to see it in the
theatres though. not worth the amount you pay to watch a movie. i will
wait when it comes out on video. later

I went to school in Decatur, know Mark's now daughter-in-law and agree that I was not expecting this to be a comedy! The book has it's comedic parts because of Mark being bipolar but probably would have enjoyed this better if they turned it in to a serious "investigation" movie! I will still go see it though and am excited to see Decatur, IL in a movie!!!

Having lived in Decatur, IL my entire life, and having seen the actual filming of this movie I am very excited. Plus I work for ADM. It doesn't get much better than that. lol And I wasn't expecting it to be a comedy either. A complete twist. Matt Damon is a phenomenal actor and a truly nice guy. A rarity in today's HollyWEIRD.
