Neil Burger Set to Bring Us a New Bride of Frankenstein
It looks like Universal didn't want to wait for Guillermo del Toro. Universal and Imagine are in talks with The Illusionist director Neil Burger to write and direct a remake of their 1935 monster movie Bride of Frankenstein. At one point, Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini had written an updated take that set the story in contemporary New York, with a young woman dying and being brought back to life. Apparently Burger's version will differ significantly, however, we're not sure if it he'll still set it in modern times or not. Considering The Illusionist was a great period piece, one might assume he'll go period again.

Must Watch: First Teaser Trailer for Dominic Sena's Whiteout
An unofficial teaser trailer for the comic book adaptation Whiteout has finally popped up online. This is another one of those Warner Brothers projects (like Trick 'r Treat) that has been delayed for an excessively long amount of time. This was actually shot in early 2007 and even had a presence at Comic-Con a few years ago. But since then they've kept hidden at the studio. It's now officially set to hit theaters in September and this is the first teaser. Kate Beckinsale stars as US Marshal who flies down to Antarctica to investigate a murder. It looks like a claustrophobic thriller reminiscent of The Descent, but set on Antarctica instead.

Gorgeous Italian Poster for Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds
Although all of those "is a Basterd" posters we saw during Cannes were awesome - this new one definitely kicks their ass. A new Italian poster for Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds has popped up online and it's gorgeous. I absolutely love this poster. It reminds me of the old hand-painted James Bond posters with the main cast posing in front and a montage of other actors in the background. To top it off, my excitement for Inglourious Basterds is growing by the minute, as I have a feeling it's going to be huge when August rolls around. I just hope we get a US version of this poster or I'll be flying to Italy to get one myself!

Producer Frank Marshall Says Jurassic Park IV is a Long Shot
Sorry kids, but its just not going to happen. For those of you who are still awaiting to one day see Jurassic Park IV, don't get your hopes up. A few sites talked with producer Frank Marshall on the set of The Last Airbender yesterday and got an update on the rumored sequel. At first, he was asked if he thought Land of the Lost's enormous failure hurt their chances for another Jurassic Park movie at Universal. "I think Land of the Lost, it was a comedy. We just have to see if they can come up with a story. We don't have a story." Not only is their not a story yet, but Marshall specifically told io9 that it's more of a "back burner project."

Check This Out: Viral Game Launched for Shane Acker's 9
If you're a fan of viral marketing or ARGs, you'll definitely want to check this out. You've probably heard about Shane Acker's 9, but if not, watch the latest trailer. It's an animated movie about rag doll characters that take on "evil machines." It's set in the distant future and looks like one of the most visually unique movies this year. As part of their marketing, Focus Features has launched a viral site at 9experiment.com as a way of introducing a bigger part of the backstory. We've seen a lot of lackluster virals recently, but this looks like it could be pretty cool and should at least keep fans active until it comes out in September.

Star Trek Writers Kurtzman and Orci on Ideas for the Sequel
It's almost too early to already be looking forward to the next Star Trek sequel, but that's how Hollywood works. Especially since screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have to turn in a finished script by the end of the year. Back in May, right after Trek hit theaters, we posted an update looking at some story ideas for a sequel - potentially involving the villain Khan or even William Shatner in some way. However, Orci insists that at this point they don't have a story or even a premise for the sequel. But at least they know where to start. SciFi Wire talked with the writers recently about how they're planning to tackle the sequel.

Energetic New Trailer for MGM's Fame Remake
MGM has debuted the new theatrical trailer for Fame, the remake of the 1980 musical of the same name. This marks the directing debut of former "Dancelife" and "The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll" director Kevin Tancharoen. I think MGM is trying to inspire a new generation of youngsters with Fame, and I expect they'll get a whole lot of people interested with this. Even if you don't like musicals, you've got to admit, this is a very well put together trailer. It really builds the excitement and I'll admit that I want to see this. I hate to say it, but I'm probably more excited for Fame than I am for Rob Marshall's Nine, in terms of musicals.

Sean Penn Says Au Revoir to Hollywood - Taking a Year Off
Actor Sean Penn, after winning his second Oscar for his performance in last year's Milk, has decided to take up to a year off in order to resolve some personal matters, according to several sources in Hollywood, including Hollywood Reporter and Deadline Hollywood. Word is that he's had private conversations where he's said that he doesn't want to work "right away" and wants to "regroup" and "just needs personal time." Last month Penn filed for a request to dismiss his divorce proceedings from his wife Robin Wright Penn, the second time he's done so. Though his personal matters are, and will probably remain, purely speculation.

Marvel's Joe Quesada Talks Iron Man 2 and Thor Directors
If you read comics, you already know who Joe Quesada is, I don't need to introduce him. But for everyone else, Quesada is the Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, the head honcho, you could say. Every week he writes a column on Comic Book Resources called Cup O' Joe. In this week's piece, he talks about two big upcoming movies - Iron Man 2 and Thor. Not only is it great to hear Quesada's feelings on Iron Man director Jon Favreau and Thor director Kenneth Branagh, but he tells a few great stories that should make everyone feel like both of those franchises are really in the best hands. So from here, I'll just let Quesada tell the stories.

Check This Out: Transformers 2 Augmented Reality Promo
With Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen arriving in theaters in only 8 more days, Paramount is launching the last of their interactive marketing. The latest website they've launched involves augmented reality, which is becoming an increasingly popular little marketing tool in Hollywood. You may not know what augmented reality is, but you've probably seen it and you'll get a little demo with this. Basically, using your own webcam, augmented reality adds interaction to "your world" by digitally projecting an Autobot onto the video from your camera's feed. If you have a webcam, it's a fun little promo worth checking out.
